You did a good job of pointing out that this is an issue for YOU, I've been playing for 1 year 4 months and the best fam I've gotten is a 30% IED with party heal. I've been playing for a year and a half now but the best fams I've ever got is a large drop and a 30 IED + party heal. I gotta say i'm very happy that they added Cernium fams, but at the same time I have to slow down my level up on my farming characters so I dont go over the level to farm, the longer I stay in Cernium without finishing my familiars, the slower my leveling becomes. So I feel Soga all the way, W my friend.

Well they certainly were "continuing to consider" alright. They are continuously considering how to milk their customer base dry. Remember folks, the first hit is always free, which in this case were the cernium familiars. Oh, so you work for Nexon and got a note on the future updates of the game. Oh wait, you don't. You can only guess what's next to come. 2 months is nothing in terms of 'future' considerations for the game, especially for a system as powerfull as familiars. Sit quiet and wait for what they have to say. Sure this event is a cashgrab we all see that, but that does not logically imply they don't implement fams in the future. I very well see them add some in winter, but I guess we'll see who between us is right.

Maplers have been eating so much shit from Nexon they're treating it as chocolates LOL. We need people to speak up, even if it's exaggerated, if the game get good in the end then win-win for every player.

@@clums8389 Telling people to sit quiet, is telling people to not voice concern, which in turn is trying to force people to stay silent about issues. This is how a game dies and is a restriction on speech. This is a horrible take, and I honestly wish people would stop saying this.

@@voxii_13 You can call out the familiar cards for a rediculous price, without saying that we don't get any fams in other area's. We KNOW the sale of these cards is insane. We don't KNOW anything about the release of other fams. Call Nexon out on it's BS, not on the things they might or might not do. That is my point.

I hope I'm wrong in this analysis, but I get the sense that you are often comparing yourself to others in this game. Like how you are behind someone who have a legendary familiar and can make better use of the fam rerolls. And that influences the way you look at changes and new content, mostly in a negative way, because they widen the gap between you and the people you are comparing yourself with. As an endgame player myself, I think that's a worrisome mentality for a game like maplestory. There are so many RNG elements that are outside of your control that do impact your strength/progression significantly. Now I do think comparing yourself to others isn't always a bad thing and it can motivate/push you to better, like pushing for higher levels or grinding fragments. Those factors are mostly within your own control, so what you put in is what you get out. I say this, because I notice that changes that widen this gap, are often changes you look negatively at. Even if the changes are a net possitive for you, like these reroll cards for fams, which can help you get better fams. The fact that someone else may get more benefit out of it, seems to take away your enjoyment of it. On the other hand, personally I like to look at what these changes bring to me in a vacuum. So ignoring all other players, what do I get out of it? In this case, this event will give me (among other stuff) one free reroll for a unique familiar. It's not a lot, but it's potentially a free gain, therefor it's okay. In the end I like this update. That being said, I think we can all call out Nexon on the dirty cashgrab that is the €50 bonus tracks, but as long as I don't buy it, it doesn't affect me. I don't want to say my way of looking at the game is better or worse than yours. I mostly wanted to share my view and maybe challange some of your views. I hope I haven't offended you in any way. Feel free to do with this whatever you want. We're all just here to enjoy a good game.

Thanks for your comment. Comparison is the thief of joy indeed. I just want the game to be better and these changes here are not it imo. That's what it boils down to.

I think it's WILD you think 10k fam points for 1 card a month is a good change. Rerolling once in a month when you can just combine for cheaper, more often, is not a good system. The cards are not a net positive, they change nothing in game, but open the door for spending to progress more. Which is what Reboot was against in the first place.

You have to understand that the video I was referencing was the all-time best for me in some metrics, I think it's just natural for me to try to come up with ways on how I can follow up on it. The most recent patch notes seemed like a fitting point in time to do a just that and try something new at the same time.

Going back for fams is a waste of time. I've read the takes that it benefits "new players." It does not because "new" players are likely to level way past Cern/Burnium and need to focus on their gear and sacred force to catch up to the content, or-more likely-quit before then. If they chose a non-meta class and spedrun to lategame, they will be shocked to find they won't be able to participate in content which fams do little to overcome.

When I watched milestone preview i thought about how time vindicated u really nicely lol. I usually think those types of videos are kinda immature for the most part, but tbh, people in maple are super quick to jump on the bandwagon and are very narrow minded and too desperate... so this could serve as a bit of a mirror for some people hopefully. maple players are like a beaten dog, jumping on every sliver of sympathy they receive (rightfully so) and its not very good for the game's health... btw just to clarify - by immature i meant that this video comes off sort of as a bit of a 'i told u so' type video. i don't think thats what u meant but it just gives that vibe to me. i will say tho i love the way you approached the whole topic and also enjoyed the video alot! also i think u are very good at receiving criticism which seems to be a rare trait lol.

the fams in general is a mess, i understand why u want the reroll to cost cheaper but it would devalue other player efforts such as urself who has farmed so much. a cheaper reroll would only allow newer players to get better fams and make older players feel horrible for farming long hours for older fams and newer ones ofc. Best solution is to just abolish this whole system.

And it would devalue the investment reg players made. It's not a large community in GMS, but you also can't ignore them as they do pay quite well.

Abolishing the system is going to have the same feeling as someone else catching up. This is not a PvP game. Why do you want people to not progress? Why do you feel other people should suffer while you made it? That is a toxic trait. Anything that makes the game better for everyone is a great change.

@@clums8389 Systems are often different between reg and reboot. They can make the shop prices cheaper and more frequent for reboot and it has no effect on reg. I think it's unfair to compare the two when balancing. This isn't the only L take you've had on this video.

Sounds like more doomer posting with a side of i told you so, I dont think this is the end all be all for fams and what theyre doing. YES what they did with the current battle pass fam reroll item is disgusting at the very least theyre trying something (again even tho that something is absolute garbage asscheeks)... And with the backlash the way it is because of it I doubt they will keep it this way especially since its a hot topic. Nexon at least tried and at the end of the day we dont know whats to come so why keep the doom mentality going, if it comes it comes if not well we have to keep kicking and screaming at nexon to do something. They'll introduce a way or bring something so Limbo parties can clear it wouldnt make sense to keep reboot and bring a boss thats not doable with how theyre separating us from kms.

People doom because Nexon has conditioned them to doom. If something bad has happened to you multiple times, you tend to expect the bad thing. So, how about instead of blaming the players, you blame Nexon.

@@voxii_13 but the players are still the ones coming back so whose really to blame? Personally when shit like this happens i put in as much feed back in the system and not spend. Ive been playing reboot for 4 years now and been an off and on again player for 10+ years prior this is how I always treat controversy like this. As a player do what you can and complain in the right channels, but dooming at slightest bit of adversity is honestly so tiring and cant understand why people play a game they truly hate.

Also liked to add im 280 64k stat im just as pissed as everyone else on this fam bs but again if good comes it comes but if not complain in the right channels. We got got tons of good changes one thing on like this fam update is upsetting but the future is still unkown on how inkwell decides our fates but in the mean time having a little faith and optimism wouldnt hurt anyone
