There are more people that need rescuing that are in more dire situations on that day.. At least these people have a home and groceries hopefully.. More attention from now on should be to follow hurricane preparedness suggestions.. Get out of the path of a hurricane.. Jeez..

I'm originally from Gwinnett County. Lived there almost 50 years. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that they built a subdivision with only 1 entrance. ANYBODY that knows Lawrenceville's History, knows that the Yellow River flooded the town of Lawrenceville many years ago. If you live on a lower level than Lawrenceville, you are setting yourself up for Disaster WHEN it does it again. My Mom and Dad knew this when they built their house on top of a Ridge back in the early 70's. But nobody does their research before they make stupid decisions.

This is in North Georgia. There is no evacuation zone in this area. Normally evacuation zones are for places on the shore where there is storm surge.

Probably not something anyone should do after a storm unless they're literally dying, just wait for the water to drain or for firefighters to arrive, it's not that serious. There could be wires, debris, glass, trash, sewage and all sorts of garbage.
