I enjoy long passages, as a viewer. Though I imagine it's tough being cooped up for so long. We're heading somewhere under the rainbow (2:26)- wow! An amazing escapade with that fishing net. Not a good place to have a Starlink outage... glad you had a backup. We're sleeping with the fishes! One of them decides it's time to wake Jenna for her watch. Good job, everyone. You made it.

Thanks for my Sunday morning dose of Sailing Machete. Tell Dan he needs to leave the portal open, and he will catch more fish. How funny in the kids' bedroom. What was wrong with Starlink? Did your prior home get hit by Helene? Are Dan's parents okay? I live in the Charlotte area, and we dodged the hurricane. Churches were sending food and water the day after.

Hi!! Thank you!! The kids knocked the breaker off for starlink on accident making it go into stow mode and if goes into stow mode at sea it’s hard to get it out of it! But it finally snapped out of it! 😂 Thankfully our hometown wasn’t too badly damaged from the hurricane, not like those in Western NC. So devastating the stories coming out. So glad yall made it through the hurricane unscathed!!

@@sailingmachete Kids and Starlink, funny. I'm glad your town didn't get hit. What a disaster. I don't bet, but if I did, I would have bet that Ashville would never be hit by a storm of that magnitude. Has JuJu caught any more fish in her bedroom! That was hilarious. What was so funny was how all the kids laughed about it. Hopefully, you've caught more fish. I'm sure you have. Dan needs a larger reel with more line capacity and drag! (LOL). @@sailingmachete That's the partial plan, but not full time for us. We're wrapping up work in the next year and then will be on the prowl for a 2nd smaller place upstate. (Lot's of family in Anderson and Clemson). Reach out if you think you might need crew for a week or two at some point next year. Have the ASA 104 and 114 certs, but never really done any real passage making, but looking forward to doing it at some point. Stay safe and have fun y'all.

Thanks for the review on the OLAS system! I have been searching for a good Man Overboard system and had considered the ACR OLAS system. Not Now! Loved the video and glad ya'll made it safe. Have fun and can't wait til the next one.

Having an amateur radio license from the USA, one could use an SSB High-Frequency radio either by voice to connect with a radio operator or use Winlink Express and email family as we get weather greb files to load up on your laptop.

They are definitely better than some of the people in Western NC! So devasting what has happened 💔. Some people in our town are still without power and some of our friends had trees that landed on their homes. But the are alive and will rebuild!!

Bad line... all I got was "starlink went down...crackle, we're on fire.. ZZZ click, call the coastguard." Maybe it's just your accent but I think you need keywords and safe words For sure using negatives like "don't call the coastguard" "we're not in trouble"is begging for it.

There are videos on removing the starlink from motorized mounnt and mount it flat on dodger.

Starlink has now added option now to leave your dish in the flat position and doesn’t use the motor at all. It works great at sea! Thank you for watching and for commenting!
