Family Blue River Camping - January 2021 - Rockwood 2280bhesp

We visit Blue River, in Tishomingo Oklahoma as a family for the first time in 2021. Weather changed on us over night and we had our first experience playing in the camper for half a day while it rained on us! We learned real quick, we need more storage for jackets, etc when all for of us are inside the camper.

I'm planning on making a video diving into how I made my kitchen/stove box in the future - I don't know when that will be ready - I'd guess sometime in the next 2-3 months, possibly sooner - this mods videos is & was a lot of work!

I removed it - it was loud, and if the battery dies - the manual backup is a horrible design. - went with a manual one.

Yeah, especially if you can get it for a great price. All Pop ups will need some DIY love. There not made like other campers

Thanks bud! Nice thanks! I noticed the bracket for the tanks might require some grinding since part of it is welded on but looks like it's worth it

@@adamgerstenberger5954 yes, a little grinding on the propane tanks & the battery tray was the hardest to get loose. Totally worth it, I switch over to Lithuim batteries & moved them inside, so you’ll wanna find a place for your batteries.

I have the same camper. But where u take your outdoor kitchen rack? In other commentaries u said that you change for lithium batteries. How did u do that?

Awesome! Where did I take my rack?????? Yes, I have 2 lithium Battleborn batteries and I basically completely re-wired my camper - the connections from the factory were poor and some grounds already came loose, causing electrical components not to work, so I fixed that - I'm currently working on a video covering all my modifications on my camper, one over my electrical and another over my kitchen chuck box - should be uploaded by the end of March.

We have the same model.. and have also switched over to two lithiums, I was going to relocate the batteries under the dinette and reposition the inverter, Have already removed the Water filtration system Conveniently installed over the inverter (what are those guys at the factory thinking with that placement??) instead of rewiring thought of adding the large craftsman box and install propane and batteries in it... how much of a pain is rewiring everything to the inside, and where did you install your batteries?

@@rschramm8474 My batteries are inside under the open dinette seat. The project took some time and was a decent amount of work - however 120% worth it!! Do you have an Instagram account - if so look me up - Lancew09 or my name - there are pics I posted along the process or you can join the Flagstaff and Rockwood Tent Camper (Popup) Owners FB group - search my name and I posted pics of the install, I'm leaving tm to go film these videos - hoping to have them published in the next 3+ weeks on my KZbin page. I made a decent amount of modifications to the 2280 - I think a lot of owners could benefit from - reason I'm shooting a video.

@@One2ManyHobbies Found you on IG... Very nice detail .. I like your set up, the placement of everything looks great, and the cut off switch, AWESOME idea....the wiring diagram you spoke of that Nate helped you with, you wouldn't have that handy somewhere would you?
