Shaki loves her baby and seems so proud of her!!! Shakina is so darn cute. Shaki is so worried she's going to run off or someone else will get her. She's grown very attached to her. You're correct! She even fought him once. The problem is that Jamil has also gotten attached to Shaking & he have her very spoiled. She's too hyper to the point that instinctively she bites her in order to discipline her. I've seen other videos whereas other owners know how to manage the young ones.

Shaki is just an amazing little mommy to Shakina. She’s is the most gentle mother I think I’ve ever seen. Most mother macaques, or any other species of monkey, I have seen can be extremely rough. I’ve seen Shaki correct the baby a few times but she does so in such a gentle way. Jk has shown an amazing amount of patience too. I was kind of afraid they would be rather jealous of the baby at first but I should have known better, lol. These two are just the greatest and the exception to every rule. 🥰

I think Shaki is gentle because Jamil was gentle, she is reflecting what her life has been... Wild monkeys have a different life. And the monkeys that were harmed and returned to the wild had even a more different life. Nature and nurture theory at its best I guess.

5:30 after watching this video i just wondered something. Of course every animal and human on this planet will always be born with natural instincts. Look at shaki's face. She goes to bite to discipline, and instantly realizes its baby Kina and immediately starts to hug and make that face, as if to tell everyone "im sorry, i dont mean to bite the baby" Almost as if she has a blackout/doesn't remember, from the natural ability that monkeys have to discipline. So in that 2 seconds she reaches behind her, grabs shakina and starts to discipline, she doesn't even realize shes doing it BECAUSE its a natural reaction for a macaque/monkeys to have, especially in a motherly role.
