The m&m/dressing room thing was Van Halen's way of making sure their "riders" were actually being read, as it was the same paperwork that contained pyro specs. It was their canary in the coalmine; if there were no brown (?) m&m's, they could be fairly sure they wouldn't get blown up on stage that night.

I can confirm, comas are that bad. You're not conscious, but your brain doesn't really turn off, so you will be coming up with constant "million dollar ideas". However, you can also hear and feel sometimes, so your brain will try to make sense of what's going on and will create dreams and images based on what you are feeling and hearing. It can be a very unpleasant and often horrifying experience

The "Hey, I'm a dog!" thing is almost verbatim from Dexter's Lab in the mid 90s. Man, this show went downhill before Season 9. I remembered it as having more staying power than this. Sad how they rag on The Simpsons when they lost focus a lot faster and hung around just a little long, too . . . .
