Some places have them still. Theyre called landlines and theyre used a lot in offices and stuff or as a home phone. theyre a lot less common now these days though since most people just have a cellphone. But they do still exist and are produced.

Then you haven't been in any business or any place that does classified or sensitive work in the past ten years or so because landlines are all over those places and they will never give up using them... There is also that for emergency backups if the power goes out you can still run a landline off the cable that goes into it but cell phone towers might not have emergency backup power or have been affected by whatever took out the power
