The way I see it: The bullet West fires is symbolic of his pain and grief over losing time with his dad. The hole the bullet wound leaves is him transferring that pain to his dad. His dad happily accepts it knowing that, just like his new wound, the suffering he caused his family and his son can finally begin to heal. The fact this is done on Father’s Day is a metaphor for how everyday can be a day for dads to become better for their family. Of course, this is Family Guy. I’m probably overthinking it. Penis.
