It’s depressing enough when you realize Vinny’s a better friend to Stewie than Brian nowadays. Later on, within the same season the latter was revived from the dead, he became blood brothers with him just to give him the STD Herpes, and only thought the worst part about the situation was that he lied to him about his Herpes and NOT that he gave his infant buddy a long-lasting disease overall.

It's a shame what they did to Brian. Before, it was basically the straight man and moral center to the entire family. He had his faults, but he was still the most morally competent out of everyone.

tbh that episodes almost a decade old. not saying brians a better or worse person now. but even in the modern day he still has new moments where he's a good friend/role model to stewie. not saying that makes up for it or anything just that sicne nothing is consistent with family guy, it's hard to really treat every single bad thing they do the same way you would in a normal show. this series has more in common with the muppets show or MADtv where everyones whoever the storyline/joke needs them to be for that specific story if anything over characters with consistent growth and values.

unlikely. He was based on his voice actor, who has passed away. Death, Angela, and Adam West were also removed after their voice actors died.
