To me this is where the show really shines. Not even the cutaways, just the perfectly described, mundane observations

I’m starting to think that Family Guy would really benefit from being a compilation of shorts because no one cares about Family Guy’s plot. Family Guy storylines aren’t interesting anymore and it feels like Seth only puts effect into American Dad, which honestly American Dad is the best animated show he has created so far.

Pro tip for plastic wrap users: go to a restaurant supply store and get a 12" commercial sized plastic wrap meant for restaurant usage (or order it online). Conway Twitty cutaways were notorious for being the entire song but they actually served three purposes: 1. To fill up runtime 2. It works on a meta level because the songs are meant to serve as a distraction, so when the song ends and it cuts back to the show, you've been so caught up in the song, it kind of "jolts" you back into the flow of the episode 3. Seth MacFarlane did it as a subtle "fuck you" to FOX because it costs a lot of money to get permission to use Conway Twitty's songs, so he'd blow FOX's budget each time the crew used the cutaway gag Eventually the joke hit its peak in the episode where Peter and friends reunite with God, who points out the laziness of the Conway Twitty gag and insists they just write a joke instead. As far as I know, the show hasn't used the joke since.

The opening logo bit makes so much sense especially with indie movies nowadays. I saw “Late Night With The Devil” in theaters and the opening logos took up over a minute of time. There were EIGHT logos in total. EIGHT. And they STILL somehow couldn’t afford an actual artist for the transitional images.

i really love these very specific jokes and cutaways, it's always been more memorable to me than the weird edgy and gratuitously gorey jokes (and this is coming from a horror fan lol)

I would say the three that relate to me the most are the Saran wrap, restaurant bread and butter, and the breakfast buffet. Can somebody explain the last one, the Jared Leto one, and the Providence tour guide one?

Maude was a sitcom in the 70’s that seemed to have an unusually long theme song. It was a spin-off of All in the Family.

I clicked specifically for the plastic wrap segment. Way too accurate. Why most of my family still insists on using it is annoying. And don't worry, there's always that one person who just shows up, and can just swiftly and seamlessly unroll, slice and place it and it actually fucking sticks perfectly, until the moment you touch it, and it NEVER will cling again. I didn't expect the segment to be so long though hahaha

Here in Sweden we have "Ninjaplast", translates to "Ninja plastic" basically. I think they've launched it in other countries too. It's a game changer.

$16 for a burger of some kind, what looks like french toast sticks, and a large soda? $16 is what the burger alone costs near me. $4 for a soda, and probably like $7 for french toast sticks.
