Shelley Duvall was the actress who played the mother on The Shining. During production, Stanley Cubrick decided to start mentally and emotionally treat her like shit and even had the staff and other actors make her miserable or just be total dicks to her. They would yell at her, ignoring her requests, belittle her and treat her like shit, they didn't ease up for fucking second. If you remember in the here's Johnny scene, you could hear her say Jack please stop, it was all so he could get the fear factor into her performance, and practically destroyed her to the point where her hair even started falling out in clumps from all the stress. After The Shining was finished, she was in an out of mental hospitals and psych wards. She never recovered from the abuse, her career as an actress was finished, and so was her sanity.
