Like a lot of things that started in 1999 and have only gotten worse as things have gone on Family Guy is basically a perfect example of the Simpson syndrome. Taking a property that should have ended while it was still good and just driving it into the ground. But that's the thing Fox clearly did/does not care and has no problem just continuing beating a dead horse as long as they can. I clearly remember being somewhat interested in the multiverse game and having reviewers just beat that game senseless. Unfortunately it was a sign for what was to come.

It felt too much like a paintjob made to please that part of audience that was into Cleaveland or into tv shows with black people as the protagonists. Granted, the setting was interesting and some of the secondary characters had the potential for some laughs, but it felt gimmicky and derivated so it didn't last long like American Dad is. Really, is like it doesn't exist anymore when it switched to TBS, despite being slightly more consistent and inspired than Family Guy.

I unironically wouldn’t mind a Family Guy or Simpsons game done by one of Nintendo’s studios like Retro Studios or Next Level Games (I know they aren’t owned by Nintendo, but they did start only making games for Nintendo.)
@user-vn7ce5ig1z5 жыл бұрын
• It's interesting that the road to _Family Guy_ (reference intended), was almost identical to the road to _South Park_ . • 28:29 - The _South Park_ episode "Freemium Isn't Free" ripped into "Tapped Out" (and _Quest for Stuff_ ). Even _Simpsons_ itself took a shot at it in "Labor Pains" and even the game itself was self-aware of the predatory nature of F2P games. • 29:17 - You can't say "Bejeweled-like" anymore, in true Facebook fashion, _Candy Crush_ has replaced its predecessor. :-\ • 29:54 - FOX may not have known when to stop, but now that Disney owns it, it'll be so much worse. Just look at _Star Wars_ . • 30:25 - I suspect Seth's opinion on seven seasons for TV shows might be connected with his being a fan of _Star Trek_ . 🤔

I remember being somewhat interested when it released and then reviewers just tore it to pieces. 2012 was an interesting time for family Guy as a show too. Right around 99-00 there were so many great animated semi-adult shows. Some ones I can think of off the top of my head are The Oblongs, Mission Hill, Undergrads, Home Movies. I also have to mention Dr Katz and The Critic. I remember watching The Critic in its first run on Fox, but especially the animation block that would play on Sunday nights/early Monday mornings on Comedy Central . I believe The Tick was in that Animation Block as well, along with a few others that rotated out. Going back to the early/mid 90s on MTV with stuff like The Head, The Maxx, Liquid Television which spun off Beavis and Butthead, Aeon Flux. There was a great animated Spider Man show on MTV as wel but that was after 2000. Any of the above mentioned shows are worth a watch if you havent seen them.

Well, this was a surprise. I have a lot of respect for Seth McFarlane, 'cos when he's good, he's really good. *Larry and Steve* is still one of my favourite *What A Cartoon!* shorts from back in the day. I do agree that Family Guy's been going too long and it'd be nice if it just finished up and let McFarlane just do something new. If I'm honest, I really like *Back to the Multiverse.* It's not groundbreaking in the slightest, but its's competently made, I like to come back to it every now and then and it gives me a rather nostalgic vibe for license games like PS2's Futurama. That and I'm a total sucker for cel-shaded games that let you just run around and explore fun environments. Multiplayer's pretty good too.

You really can’t compare simpsons tapped out to quest for stuff. The simpsons game gives you ample opportunity to earn premium currency while the family guy ‘game’ is so skewed towards making you spend real money that you can’t really succeed without unless you have multiple years of free time to waste. Unfortunately the same could be said for the Futurama version : /
