Being an "A" Body Dart fan...I'm looking so forward to seeing this project progress and be finished. My true love in my first car ever, 1970 Dart Swinger, 340, Auto, 8 3/4 rear axle. Have you or will you ever do a 70Dart?

Was thinking the video was going to be all on the Dart, but no luck there. Wondering if more work has been done to it, and how well it's all coming together? It's mainly just this particular Dart I have an interest in seeing, not the work on the others, as I'd have preferred to see them in a separate video as well. I suppose, to make a longer full video, it may take more than one car...not sure? Nonetheless, hopefully all parts are available and used in an upcoming video on the Dart.

Did anyone check the VIN numbers to see if they matched the original car??? This car has 1968 Dart GT front fenders and doors - you can tell by the chrome body side molding (I know, I have a '68 Dart GT convertible). I doubt that anyone would have put the chrome on, or they swapped out the front fenders and doors at one point with a Dart GT. Yes, the power bulge GTS hood is correct, but did the inside door panels say GT or GTS? or those could have been changed as well. I guess what I am asking is, is this really a GTS, and is it the same car?

I'm wondering about that too! Where did those doors and fenders come from? Maybe a rust/wreck issue somewhere along the line. Car has the bumper guards and stripe. VIN should start with LS27P. S=GTS. P=340.

Growing up my dad had a 67 dart Gt he sold it when he got a 73 challenger off his friend he also had a 69 dart Gts he stored away in another friend's garage in 1986 when my sister was born. In late 04 early 05 He did want to see if the 69 was in good enough shape to finally have something of a father son project and then make it my first car. ( sadly when his friend dug it out it was to far gone ) on September 19th 2021 my dad passed away from a stroke at the age of 53. I've been wanting to get a 69 dart so I could do the project he had in mind but right now my responsibilities as a parent myself has to back burner that for a while but eventually I'll Resurrect a dart as a tribute the old man and restore a lost connection that's been pretty difficult to cope with

I have a correction on the question about the demon and duster rear fenders . You are incorrect that the demon's rear fenders were same as the duster fenders. They were shorter than the duster fenders. I had 1971 demon and sold it to a girl with 2 dusters. She coold not use the demon to fix the duster fenders. My demon and I was in an accident. I was unable to fix the a frame so it became donor parts.

You need to go to the junkyard and look for your car. I know they said they crushed it but a lot of those junkyards say they crush things and they never did it’s so that they can cover up for stolen property.

Who owns the 1968 DODGE DART GTS 340 CONVERTIBLE 4-SPEED? I hope noone turns up when it's finished and claim the car is theirs.
@thomasward45052 жыл бұрын
You call the GTS convertible a dart when in reality they don't say dart on the car anywhere. A GTS was very expensive when they were bought in '68 I think a couple hundred dollars less than a Corvette and that's why they sold very few. A gts convertible was extra rare and I had one with air conditioning which was also very rare and and I believe they cost almost $5,000 in 68

I work on a 340/4- speed 69 dart swinger ,2.02 valves 3:90 gears purple shaft cam , it won't out run my cousin's 68 Camaro 350 a low compression crate engine compared to a hi compression 340,I do all the work on both cars the Camaro is heavier with a Taller taller gear and the Camaro kicks that 340's ass all day long power is in the heads slopar heads don't flow good # unless its a hemi !

Maybe you need another mechanic because any 68/69 340 motors will handle any small block chevy and also alot of there big block motors also
@camerondouglas4162 Жыл бұрын
Where's the timing set on that high-compression 340? What fuel is it running? Crate motors are better suited to pump gas now.
