Filing for a restraining order before they take any legal action, was a very smart move. Now, the possibilities of them winning any court case just dropped to zero and OP saved himself from harassment and further financial losses in stupid law suits. Kudos!

I was in a similar position. My family kicked me out with no money and no car while I was in college. They picked the worst possible time to do so and I had done nothing wrong. My other brothers had pissed my parents of so they kicked everyone out. Nothing like group punishment. I ended up being massively more successful than my parents or brothers.

Get a lawyer and have them write up a public letter stating that you are no longer financially responsible for anything from your parents or brothers and remove yourself from their next of kin. That way they cannot come back later and tried to make you pay for anything (I. E. Mortgage, car loan, funeral, ) yes there's hundreds of people on redit that have been sued for family debts.

Read carefully cause this answer what I'm about to say will have you thinking about times you probably moved away or whatever and people easily found you. 1. You left your location on and whenever you post on social media, it snitches and tell people where you are so turn that off. 2. There are sites where you can go to and put in a person's name. That information alone would give the person everything....and I mean EVERYTHING on you. Name, address, phone number, email accounts, parents name, siblings name, etc

Do not give the new address to the old bank. Avoid using the old debit/credit cards in new places. Get a credit card from a new company. No paper trail. Her family could of had friends with the bank. Doesn’t matter if it’s a stbx a child or whatever you have tenants rights, leasing rights etc, if you wanna remove someone from their own home they have to you know, agree with you on that OR get an eviction. When your family treat you like trash or spend years telling you that you aren't a member of their family, remember that, remember how they made you feel & use it to help get yourself better. If you're oh so much of a burden, then they won't mind you cutting of contact. Same if they say you are no good for them. If you are oh so bad, they won't mind you cutting them off. When someone tells you &/or shows you who they are, please listen. How the hell did they find your address? What a bullshit story, a woman story read by a man. At 28 living at home but with a car. No family man will allow his daughter to leave the house without a place to go. Working on the house maintenance as a woman and paying bills. And the famaly throws her out.
