I was brought to Australia at the age of six and it was the equivalent of taking me to Disneyland , I had spent kindergarten and 1st class in England and itwas terrible all I remember was that it was damp and cold and after school I was kept inside because of the weather , suddenly I'm introduced to a majical place called Australia where most of my school day was spent outdoors doing lessons under shade trees and always running about creating havoc and having fun . And when I was home it was endless adventures at the beach or building forts in the national Park across the street from my home . Most of my teachers were terrific and I had crushes on some of them .when I married , my wife was a stay at home mum until my yougest started school then she went to university got a bachelors degree in education and became a teacher she loved teaching and the kids loved her . She quickly became ahead teacher and taught the senior classes of years 11and 12 she took her students on 3 day trips to Sydney Canberra and the Snowy mountains ,and arranged self defence classes ,got local beauty parlours to teach the girls make-up and hair care she got consultants to teach the kids how to handle a job interview and how to write resumes and she did all this on her own time .I'm Telling this convoluted story to show the quality of the dedicated teachers in this country it's a wonderful place to go to school . Of course the individual student has to except the opportunities offered and embrace them , which unfortunately is not always the case . For the person who queried about bringing a toddler to Australia checkout another show like yours THAT JOHNSON LIFE a British teacher and his wife and baby girl relocating to Aus

This is such an awesome explanation of the difference in lifestyle. We have noticed that teachers are not so horrendously overworked here, and in turn they are able to give so much more ❤️

Wow , what an inspiration and each time I read such comments, it reinforces my decision to move to Australia.Though I am well settled in Ireland, I strongly believe that Australia has a lot to offer me.Thanks for the positive comments and thanks a lot Bam famala for bringing us the updates about Australia through your wonderful videos.

Congratulations on a very positive and informative vid today. I am not a teacher, though I have a son who is ( in NSW), but I was an involved parent on P&C Assn committees, sporting assn committees etc. To put things in perspective, 5 children, bbbgb, in those 4 with degrees and one rune his own business. They are a psychologist/public administrator; head teacher; business manager in private enterprise for major mining supply co; lawyer/administrator (2 degrees); business owner operator...they have done nicely for themselves, all based on our education system. So well done to you for giving it a plug tonight.

In W.A there is support in class for children on the autism spectrum, usually an Education Assistant who works in the class with the child. Some school have a Special Needs unit with specialist teachers who work with children with with a range of special needs.

Australia also has the NDIS - National Disability Insurance Scheme that supports those living with disability and on the spectrum. Additional funding for learning support and the school can apply for additional funding for a dedicated support person for your child.

Good weather, good food, good education, and happy family lives.....and kids sprout like healthy trees! When your girls become adults they will be so proud of what you both did and sacrificed to give them a wonderful life. Prejudice? Like Maz said, kids don't normally see prejudice, and I bet every adult Aussie is proud of Ben and Maz as a success story and welcome them into the Aussie family, and are very happy their kids are thriving.

many surf clubs have a "nippers club" where kids sign up to learn basic life saving skills and of course have lots of fun with other kids ,its great character building and gives kids a good understanding of water safety , it may be worth looking into for your little people TTFN

For the parents with an autistic child, at least in NSW, there is a program in the public school system for autistic students where they have their own "Support Class" within the local public school that only has about 10 kids in each class, where they are really well looked after by awesome teachers who specialise in teaching autistic kids. The kids are fully integrated in the school and its a very positive environment. It does depend upon what "level" of autism your child is to what sort of schooling they should have but it's a very good system IMO.

Just came to say the exact same comment. My niece has Aspergers and was in one of the support classes all throughout her schooling. The public school system in NSW has a very good system in place for special needs kids imo as well. Unsure about the private school system though.

I am in NSW with a son with autism.... Here in NSW there are schools with special needs classes depending on the needs of the child. There are lots of different programs run all the different school for children with special needs. That's why as a parent you really need to do your homework and visit the schools and/or ask parent [WHAT'S THE SCHOOL LIKE FOR YOUR SON/DAUGHTER].... PLUS We have Aspect they are amazing... They also help autistic children in schools by lending support but more than also run special schools just for children with autism plus they also run satellite schools for those in regional areas.

In Scotland I think it's more similar than England. We have 3 levels called nationals instead of gcses and highers and advanced highers instead of a levels which can be a way to fast track to 2nd year uni. Can do apprenticeship or college classes alongside hs classes. And can do mix of national level and Higher and advanced Higher classes in high school. More flexible system.

@@annemariewhite6901 its amazing how that happens in a lot of countries. I lived in China and a Brazilian pilot and his family came to fly for a local airline. On their first day they came in to a bar/restaurant I frequented and they asked how i thought their daughter would fit in. I called out to one of the young girls that I knew and she took the Brazilian girl with her. She came back a hour later knowing ten Mandarin words and telling her Mum she already had three new friends. They became her school buddies. i am glad the same thing happens in Qld.

We are moving to Aus next year but on a temp skilled shortage visa. As it lasts for 4 years we can’t apply for PR until the visa is over. If we were to have children what is the cost for nurseries?
@TheBAMFamalam
@TheBAMFamalam 2 жыл бұрын
The last time we looked into it was around 6 years ago, it was $95 per day. You may be entitled to subsidies on a temp visa, you can check with Centrelink. Childcare centres are known as ‘daycare’ here, so if you are researching, that is what to type in xx
