Weekly (Thanksgiving!) Grocery Haul for our family of 12. Here is our meal plan for the week:
(We shop on Tuesday evening in Manhattan)
Wednesday: Chilaquiles, Dinner: Corn Chowder & Tuscan Pane Bread
Thursday: Thanksgiving! Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Orange Jello Salad, Pomegranates, Peas, Hawaiian Rolls, Pumpkin Pie w/ whipped cream & Pecan Pie
Friday: Leftovers for Lunch, Dinner: Jamie Oliver Chicken Curry w/ basmati rice
Saturday: Sandwiches, chips, juice, grapes, Dinner: Burritos
Sunday: Shish Kebabs (marinated chicken, red onions, bell peppers, pineapple chunks, Dinner: Nachos w/ beef, cheese & salsa
Monday: Tuna Melts, Dinner: Lentil Soup & Baguette
Tuesday: Burritos, Dinner: Costco Food

2:50 when Melody said,”oh, I love these ones”…. It ommedixstly took me to the movie, “title women”! The one made with wynonna Ryder a while back. Oh my gosh… something about the way she said it and her mannerism. That was such a good movie. It reminded me of when the girls would swoon over little things with Christmas to their mother etc. very sweet.

Have you ever made granola it’s really easy especially if you have a crockpot you put a little oil in the crockpot put in a whole bag of oatmeal and a little bit of salt and you keep stirring it every once in a while till it turns golden then add honey and whatever fruit and nuts if you like them and it’s way cheaper and you get to put in whatever you want I put in a whole container of honey and everybody loves it

Getting a small chest freezer helps a lot also it doesn’t take up space, thats what I use just being helpful to ease the storage of extra freezer space

Love your shopping, always expensive for celebrations but still cheaper than eating out. Everyone looks happy at home eating everything that evening 🥳🥳 and you Amber have energy this late in your pregnancy. Amazing 🥰🇦🇺

Love that you're still health conscious despite the budgetary constraints of a large family. Could please share your tips to stay within budget while shopping for your large family. Still trying to learn this skill, balancing health and budget requirements. Also, what do you do with your other children who aren't shopping? Would love to know

The big kids usually go busking or sometimes they have a performance. Probably the most expensive thing is fruit for us. I guess that’s our biggest splurge. Probably my best saving money tip is eating soups with legumes (beans and vegetables) and less meat. It keeps things healthy without breaking the budget!

I'm not sure which video, but you said you would love to make cabbage rolls, and I would love to share our family recipe that has been our family for generations . Nannies cabbage rolls 2lb ground beef or turkey 1 onion diced 1 egg 1/4 cup rice 1 head of cabbage ( cook the whole head for 30 minutes ) 1 can stewed tomatoes Combine all ingredients and roll into cabbage leafs . Place into baking dish top with 2 cans of whole tomatoes and 1 can of kraut . Bake at 375 for 45 minutes to an hour
