The fact that Neveah asked her for something she had never bought and then she bought both kinds to make sure Neveah had the one she wanted says a lot. I keep coming back here and knowing what she does for her children whether biological, adopted, fostered, or kinship always makes me happy. I hope to be financially, emotionally, and mentally stable enough as her so I can foster and have a big family someday.

Grocery shopping for just 4 people gave me such anxiety that we now order online and have it delivered. You amaze me every damn time I watch you. You make everything look so easy. You’re so easy going and your level of patience is off the charts. I wish I could be like you. You are a ROCKSTAR! You were definitely meant to be a mother, and I thank you for sharing your life with us.

I used to feel the same until around a year or so ago. We're a family of eight, so when we shop the kids are usually with us. I have one adult son (in college and still at home) 3 teenage girls and two elementary school-aged. The teens get a copy of the grocery list shared to them via text and we literally help each other. Lol. It's easy to get sidetracked by our younger two so our girls are a huge help.

families with adopted kids do get a stipend from the government. plus her husband works and she's generating money from youtube. If they struggled like a regular family, no way would she shop like this. Name brand sodas and snacks and all that. It would be rice and beans every night for dinner.

Slow cook the ribs in 30% cola, the rest water to just cover. Min 4-6 hours (adjust by how many as I only do small amounts, just until cooked). Then marinade in bbq, preferably over night. Then cook in hot oven, basting with additional bbq sauce as desired until as crisp as desired. Never fails me!

I'm going to chime in on the " I can't believe she buys all that unhealthy junk ".... She has explained why she does this in other videos. First of all, more power to her for cooking and feeding a family this large. I would have anxiety every single day because it's hard to please that many. Secondly, she has several special needs children who get fixed on certain foods and other children who have experienced hunger from the lack of food before they came to the Dougherty home. She is trying to take care of both emotional and physical needs of each child. As far as the White Claw...haha.. how many of you take a swig at the end of the day? Walk in her shoes people..walk in her shoes.. More power to her and prayers. We are all entitled to our opinions of course but is it so hard for us to express encouragement or are we so miserable in our own lives we have to bring others down? Finally, I want to be positive and challenge others to be the same.. it will change your whole outlook on life! ❤️ NO, I'm not rainbows and sunshine every day but I don't have to be thunder and lightning everytime my mouth opens ..😉

You are so precious! Love how you listen to the kids what they want. I bet they feel so loved. 🥰 When i was in foster care we could not decide anything we wanted to eat or when we wanted to eat. We had 4 meal times (one being the school lunch in school) and we needed to eat that time or we got nothing. You couldn't even enter the kitchen only adults were allowed there, if you were hungry you just would have to wait the next meal time. If you were on isolation (so couldn't leave the room) they brough the food to your room where you would just sit on a mattress eating it on the floor since there were no furniture. Also we couldn't go outdoors without supervised and when we did get to go it was some sort of work usually. Like picking rocks larger than our thumb from gravel road. It was a horrible place to be. It wasn't prison even if it sounds like it, it was foster care family home. If i weren't adult already i wish i could have been your kid haha! 😄

Hi Alicia The farmers here in the US here are saying that there is going to be a food shortage at the end of summer or in the fall. Alot of them have not been able to afford to plant crops this year. Bc of high cost of seed and fertilizer and diesel etc. So happy all of you have planted a garden and that you have chickens. I have never known the farmers here in the US to say there is going to be a shortage here in the US. The United Nations say there is going to be a food shortage also. There are videos here on KZbin about the farmers here in the US warning us of a food shortage here in US. I watched a video of the farmers warning on Aol news. Glad you have the extra fridges and refrigerators also. You are a wonderful Mom getting all the children their favorite food and snacks and knowing what they are. I love your weekly shopping trips. Please keep them coming. I want to learn how to make that pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Would you please post your recipe. I would greatly appreciate it. I love your morning routines also.

I suggest cutting back on sodium for your husband. All those seasonings and mixes especially are very high in sodium. It’s hard, I know, but as someone who has high BP , reading the labels and learning to cook low sodium by subbing in herbs and spices has really helped. I wish you well. Your family is lovely.

You mention the price difference from last year. It's just me and my son and I darn near have a heart attack spending $300-$350 a month for what use to always be about $60 a week. I see your receipts and it's like 2 weeks of my pay for only 1 of your many grocery trips per month. I don't know how you shop so calmly. The price for chicken, beef and pork has been horrible. The price of fruits and veggies now a days is awful. It's cheaper to get a fast food burger and fry then it is to get a small salad. I love all that you and your husband do for your beautiful family. Thank you so much for sharing.

Ribs: dry rub and slow cook at 200 F for like 4-6 hours. Then slather in sweet baby rays and finish up on the grill. Just needs enough time for the sauce to caramelize.

Hey! My husband has perfected ribs with lots of tries. We use baby back or spare. First step is to remove membrane on the back. Next, we apply a rub on them. We like the Heath Riles honey or sweet bbq rub. You can get this online, or at a rural king if you have those near you. You can also make your own rub with brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, pepper. Let the ribs set with rub at least 15 min. Next you want to use charcoal and cook them on the grill. Make sure the coals are on one side of the grill and a decent sized pile because you’re going to be cooking a long period of time. On the side without coals is where you want to place your ribs so they cook slow. check ribs regularly, cook to internal temp of 190 degrees. This will take anywhere from 2-4 hours depending how hot your grill is. Then you are gonna add your favorite bbq sauce with a basting brush. (We also like the heath riles bbq sauce) Do not overdo the sauce and keep them on the grill when adding your sauce on. Next you’re gonna cover the grill again and let them get to 205. Take them off once they hit 200-205 internal temp. If you prefer to cook in the oven inside, follow the same steps, but cook on 300 degrees until they reach 190, then turn up the heat to 500 when you add your sauce. Check the temperature of the meat the same.

@@gloriaford2221 why would you say no concern for prices? Obviously she meal plans, you saw her list right? I'm sure while doing so she worked with the stores ads & website & knew the prices while she was planning her meals. Who goes into the store & does all that while shopping? You plan, make a list & go to store already knowing what you're getting & how much it'll cost. Everybody chooses where to spend their money based on their priorities & just because hers may be different than yours doesn't make it wrong.

Hello. I am from the UK, and mostly when we make TOAD IN THE HOLE we just use ordinary sausages, nothing fancy, mainly because it is traditionally a budget meal. However we, ( that is my family ) do jazz it up by adding tiny button mushrooms that we fry whole till they get a little bit of colour on them, and also if you can find them, the baby button onions or you could use shallots, or even smaller onions halved or quartered, again fried till they are nicely brown. That really makes it nice and hearty, and adding a few fresh sage leaves really makes it special. For those that are trying to make a little food go further, if you chop the sausages into bite size bits, you can make a few sausages feed more people, as the batter is pretty cheap to make you can fill up on the batter and use less of the expensive meat. Side note ALWAYS at least partly cook the sausages, especially if they are quite thick ones, before you put them in the batter or you may find the batter is fully cooked and the sausages are not. Nothing worse than half cooked sausages, well there are, but you know what I mean. I hope this is helpful to you or your viewers. Much love and respect from South East England. x

Rib recipe: 1/2 cup brown sugar 3 tbs kosher salt 2 tsp pepper 1 1/2 tbs ground cumin 1 1/2 tbs onion powder 1 1/2 tbs paprika 1 1/2 tbs cayenne 2 tbs ground mustard 1 1/2 tbs garlic powder rub down the rack of ribs with the dry rub. Seal the ribs in Reynolds tightly, you may need more than one sheet. Put in 300 degree oven for 2.5 to 3 hours. Throw on extremely hot grill and baste with bbq sauce a couple times. My family loves it when the bbq sauce is burnt. It adds a crispyness to it. Also. when the ribs come out of the oven, they are literally fall off the bone so be careful when putting on grill. I make 3 racks at a time with a family of 6.

When I cook ribs ( I do it in the oven) I put loads of seasoning rubs like, you think that looks good. Put more. And I make my own rubs usually always use some sugar in the rub if it's bbqd. Set it to 350 coverd 4-5 hours and drank as it goes, last hour bunch of BBQ sauce. I put a chair right in front of the stove and keep a really close eye bc I go between broil. I have it uncovered for the last step. I like my BBQ sauce on my meat not to be wet but sticky. I don't usually cut them before hand bc they will fall off the bone.

You asked for a recipe for ribs, this is for Baby Back Ribs. It is a family favorite. Place ribs onto heavy duty aluminum foil. Cover ribs with salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder (both sides) and rub it on. Let sit at room temperature for 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Wrap ribs in the foil meat side down then place on a cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, reduce oven temperature to 225 degrees and cook for 1 and a half hours. Then open the foil up and cook for an hour. Then Liberally slather on your BBQ sauce on both sides then place bone side down. Cook for 1 and a half hours and slather on sauce every 30 minutes. When ribs are fork tender, place under the broiler for 10 minutes to crisp the outside. You could throw them on the grill at that point to crisp up the ribs. Enjoy. I forgot the BBQ sauce recipe if your interested. This amount is usually for 1 rack of ribs, maybe extra. 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 1/4 cup molasses 1/4 cup yellow mustard 1/4 cup ketchup. We make it in a glass measuring cup just put vinegar last. So put molasses at a quarter cup then top with ketchup to half a cup, mustard to three quarters cup and vinegar to one cup. Stir well to combine. Everybody loves this sauce.

Might I suggest with making taco type meals every week, to buy the bulk seasonings to make your own blend. I found a basic one on Pinterest, I forget the actual site right now in the event you don't use Pinterest. Because I use all of the seasonings individually in other meals anyway, it is saving us money and I don't worry if the store is out specifically of the less salt taco mix that I used to buy. I've been buying our spices on Amazon in the big jars of either clubhouse or McCormick brands if they're cheaper than Walmart. In another video you commented on how the chickens don't save you any money due to the feed costs. I don't have chickens yet but I do watch a good amount of homesteading videos, there's a lot of your food scraps that could be fed to the chickens and their own egg shells which they need a calcium source anyway. It might not save you a ton but it keeps those scraps out of the garbage if they aren't going to be composted for future use. With the ban on plastic bags I'm kind of surprised your state or municipality doesn't seem to have recycle or food waste recovery.

I make ribs in my magic pot in 45 min. or crock pot. What I found makes them fall off the bone is taking the skin- white layer on back off and I pressure cook or slow cook them and then if you want to grill them after to make them crispy you can . But taking off the white lining on the meat makes a HUGE difference for us, less tough. I DON'T bake or grill them first. Love your videos! I need your affirmation daily so Thank you!

Ribs.....Boil until the ribs are slightly soft but not falling apart, about 25 minutes. Prepare a grill for high heat. Transfer the ribs to the grill, meatier-side down. Grill for 10 minutes; brush with glaze if you like and then grill another 3 minutes.

Hi there. I love watching these videos because I see the love and hard work you put in raising your children. I see here people commenting on the “healthy-non healthy” food all the time. People fail to notice that the mother buys all kinds of food, tries to cook engaging dishes (all around the world dishes ?!???), fruits, vegetables, all kinds of meat. Apparently, since she keeps buying it means the children keep eating. It means if after the stew or the stake or the fish they want to eat cereals, candies, chips etc they can and should and this woman is giving them all they want and need. The children are healthy, they get the medicine they need (as we have seen), they eat all kinds of foods. For me it’s good enough. It should be for all you folks also.

Mix and put back in the sour cream tub (or messily mix it inside lol, it always overflows that way) and refrigerate it overnight. RIBS: The way my husband does it, and EVERYONE goes crazy for his baby back ribs: He boils them to make them tender, and it gets a lot of the fat off. In the water, he puts large chunks of onion (preferably Vidalia, or sweet onion) lots of black pepper, and garlic powder. After they are cooked through and tender, he places them on the grill to get crispy on the outside with the barbeque sauce. The sauce is Bullseye traditional. He cooks it on the stove with finely diced onion and some Tabasco to taste. Delicious! It's really easy too. P.S. I love you guys! xo

Just put them on the grill, low and slow for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Put them over the fire the last 20 minutes or so and add sauce. Do not boil meat, or wrap in foil. Do not over cook them. Ribs do not have to be cooked for hours. A tempt of 190 and they will be tender and juicy but not dried out and tough. I cut them in 1/2 to make them ore manageable to move around.
