I have been living in this new builder home for 5 years and although its new construction I decided I did not want my home to look like the other cookie cutter homes in the neighborhood. Instead, I wanted to feel like I was back home. Back home being New Jersey. Wainscotting, chandeliers, textured fabrics and so many elements I felt would bring a sense of the up North with a flair of the warm tropical vibes.

Would you share what color of white paint you used on your wainscoting. I just had wainscoting done in my entry and family room and I have 5 different white swatches on the wall trying to decide. I want white but want it to still feel warm and inviting, don’t want it to too stark like a medical office nor have too much yellow or gray. I have solid oak wood floors stained a darker/medium brown tone. Your walls look beautiful.

I enjoyed your video very much. I recently redid my house in a similar style and color pallet. The issue I’m having is with incorporating items I’ve inherited and items my husband and I have bought (married 52 years). Some items I still like, but others I can’t get rid of because my husband is attached to them for sentimental reasons😅 In particular, I have a pair of mid century swans planters which I borderline loath🤣 in an effort to try to dislike less…I filled them up with white feather like dried plant. Now sometime I think they super tacky and other times a brilliant idea🤣 Any suggestions? And no I can’t get rid of the husband! Thanks

You have given me an idea- no, I can’t get rid of him- but I can “store” them for a while, and if he asks I can say I’m finding a more suitable space for them. I’m redoing my pool patio/terrace area, and I can place them among other potted plants! Thanks!
