If everyone engaged their kids this much especially as they get older, I truly believe we would be so much better off!! What better way to guide our kids than to include them in everything we can!!! Love love love

I would love an updated how you do Bible when you get it all underway. Eager to see how you use the fruit of the spirit books as well as incorporating the gratitude journals. I still have littles but I want our group time to be sacred as you mentioned and something we can look back on as a foundational thing we did and do as a family with or without homeschool. 🥰 Thank you for sharing!!

Looks great!! After the school year gets rolling and you've had a chance to really use the items, will u please do another videos as an update on what you think of each component? Particularly Bible curriculum. Sometimes its hard to get a good feel for an item until you or someone else uses it for a bit. Have a blessed week!

I’ve mentioned before that my 16 year old still does TGTB history with my 6th grader. Her retention is just undoubtedly so much more than her retention would be with a “High School” History textbook, and that’s what’s most important to me: understanding and retention. I do recognize that some teens really need that more difficult text, but I’d like for parents who don’t have a child who learns well that way, to feel confident in knowing that it’s okay. My 11th grader and my 6th grader do History year 3, different Explorer Level work, read alouds, Fallacy Detective, and current events together twice a week with me in the mornings and we just look forward to it.

We have most all of these books. Such great books! ❤️ We just finished C.T. Studd and I have two out of six kids in upper high school and they love love love the YWAM books! We read them aloud all together and get so much out of it. Discussions and being able to sit and listen well are so key in the high school years and for college prep. You are doing great mama! It’s all about Jesus and discipling our children in the truth. That’s our main job and focus. I love your choices and heart! I agree the memories during that time will last forever! Morning/family time is actually my kids favorite part along with poetry tea time.

I completely agree about morning time and not excluding high schoolers. My oldest is a senior this year and she has done morning time with us every year of high school except this year. This year she joins us when she can. She’s been taking college courses at the community college the past 2 years and this year with online sometimes she has zoom classes during morning time. But I know those times will be memories she takes with her. I have 2 more high schoolers and it’s not even a question that they will join us. I also have a middle and elementary ages. I was wondering if you could show a flip through of the maps of the world and also the Evidence for the Bible. Thank you for all your content. I enjoy watching all your videos.

I absolutely love and appreciate this perspective and approach to family subjects! I have a rising 9th grader and it will only be our second year homeschooling so I’m definitely trying to figure out the balance between trying to keep our family learning time strong, while also making sure my 9th grader gets what he needs academically, while not overwhelming him.

Great books! I'll have two high schoolers next year, and we'll never stop doing our Prayer/Bible/Read-aloud time together. Some of the books I read cater to the three younger kids, some to the two older. But it's a great time of bonding either way.👍🏾

I was wondering what that would look like as we enter middle and high school and I’m so thankful you said what you did about continuing because it’s my favorite part of our day, too. Love all that you’re covering! Also, have you seen Campfire Curriculums? I think your family would love it and it includes everyone in the fun and learning. Interested to see how the history with a high schooler works out. I bought it for that reason also, but then decided against it. I didn’t want to have a situation like I did with Gather Round where I thought we could do it all together and then it not being enough for my middle schooler. So I chickened out and bought him something different for high school history. Part of my anxiety was, what if it doesn’t work out, and I want to do something different next year? How do I issue a credit since it’s not all American history or it’s not all world history... I agree in Bible though. That’s ALWAYS a family subject!! Sometimes my younger ones have wiser things to say than the older ones. Out of the mouth of babes....he ordains praise! ❤️ will never give that up.

I’m curious, does TGTB History tend to weave in “biblical history” with ancient/world history? Not necessarily just leaning towards “religious”, but showing how it’s all one big long story of history? We use their LA and science and love them but I haven’t settled on a history yet....thanks!!
