Candace your dog was doing an excellent job of protecting all of you. And as far as the possum goes relocate it or let it be till spring. When we were still living in our house the neighbors would always ask if we ever saw the big possum that would appear every fall. I never had but my man would. Finally he shared a secret with me. He did wood working in the garage. He had a box that he would stack pieces of wood in to let them dry until he used them for turning. One day after it was really cold out (We live in WI) he said to look in the wood box. Inside was a giant, huge possum all curled up sound asleep. He had been hibernating in that wood box for the last 10 years. Then he would wake up and disappear till the next fall. Study up about them. They actually are pretty cool animals!! ❤❤

I love opposums. They are new to our part of the world. I volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary and possums are a favourite. very sweet...and unfortunately very stinky. I hope they find a close home for themselves out of your home. great tick. eaters
