Thanks for this great video! I find the ICW rather confusing. Have you done a video on ICW?

Thank you, I am glad you found it helpful. Here is a blog post about the Shared Matches tool, www.yourdnaguide.com/ydgblog/dna-shared-matches-tool

Yea, it's pretty straight forward UNLESS your adopted. Can you do a segment on how to help adoptees to find families. If your tree is empty how do you know where to put anyone?

So true. We have a fantastic free download about getting started in finding your birth family. Check it out: www.yourdnaguide.com/birth-family.

Does this test only match you with relatives?
@YourDNAGuide2 жыл бұрын
The test will show you other people who have taken a DNA test that "match" you. Matches on your first page of matches are generally related to you in some way. But there are people on your match list that are so distantly related you will likely never determine your connection. Does that make sense?

@@YourDNAGuide I just want to say thank you for responding. Now what I meant to say was are we given any dna data like a general rundown about ethnicity and geography or is it just matching with other people?

@@SouRi1Two3 Ah! you do get ethnicity from the Family Finder test at FTDNA (but honestly, it is not the best). If you are looking for a good ethnicity report, I would go with AncestryDNA or MyHeritage DNA or 23andMe. They are all better. I have videos for each of those companies too, if you want to look.
