I am a nanny for a now 11 month old. When I started with the family, he was 3 months and could never be put down in the crib. He cried incessantly during nap time and his parents slept 3-5 hours a night if they were lucky. I had to hold him for 9 hours straight or he would scream (not cry, scream) until he was picked up. I couldn't even use the restroom or eat lunch. I had to give them an ultimatum: either we sleep train as a team or they would have to get someone else. They were reluctant, so I told them I would do it for them. They went to stay at the in-laws for the weekend and I stayed with the baby. By the time they came back, he was sleep trained and a whole different baby... Better yet, they finally got some sleep, too! I am still with this family and I love their son dearly. He goes to sleep with no problems and he loves his naps! The best thing you can do for your child is to sleep train them once they hit the 4 month mark if they can't do it on their own. It builds a platform for independence and gives the parents a chance at sanity also. The parents in this video let it go way too long. Good thing they got the proper advice for free. A week of crying is better than 5-8 years of sleepless nights. Sleep training a child is one of the best gifts you can ever give them.

Some people are really calling these children spoiled. These people sound like they're from the generation who believe that having too much contact with the baby will spoil them

Get a friend or neighbour to come up outside your kid's bedroom window wearing a werewolf mask. Have your friend come closer and tap on the window if the kid makes a noise, but move away when the kid is quiet. Explain to the kid that they have to be quiet to make the werewolf go away. Problem solved!

Really? They paid that much money just to be told to let them cry it out? Couldn’t have figured it out on your own? Ha! Wow....that’s what happens when you surround yourself with being a parent and you make your life about your kids and then whine about being sleep deprived. Give them some melatonin, put them down, shut the door and walk out. If they cry, they’ll be fine, they will live.

Those kids have been too damn spoiled.. kids have to learn how to be alone and I think letting them cry helps that
