At some point, there will come a time when your family might meddle with how you run your household, especially when raising kids (hello pamahiin dilemmas!) But my partner and I agreed that we would never let our relatives and in-laws meddle with our family decisions. It was awkward and uncomfortable at first, but we stood our ground. They finally understood and respected our decision.

My boyfriend and I have been in a relationship for almost two years. A year in our relationship a problem occurred from my grandmother, who lives with us, saying something out of anger even if my boyfriend didn’t do anything to deserve it. So ever since then, he’s been so distant from our house and family and its been hard since he always has a negative possibility of “what ifs” if he visits our home again. I’m always hoping we will move on from this eventually, even now that my grandmother is no longer in a strong and healthy state. Your podcast made me realize it does take time and patience and that we’re not alone in this. Thank you!

Agree to the idea of assessing/delving into the financial request and approaching as business. Learned from experiences wherein relatives asking for money are (too) nice when asking then we get into fights and too stressful/sensitive when you are trying to collect. Result is strained or damaged relationship.

Yes, I agree. Friendship is not about how often you met. I rarely met my friends especially I work on different province but when we meet again, we catch up and knows our friendship is still there. We rarely even talk on social media.

Reality check as always tung podcast na to. The couple really see both sides of the story before they gave their opinion in which ang galing, tho d sila totally expert in giving payo kasi iba iba nmn ang situation pero na hi hit nila yung topic as always. I agree to the point na your spouse will always comes first. On my own experience my in-laws(including the sibs) doesn't like me at the first year of our relationship same with my family to my partner but when we decided to get married we talked to both families about our differences. Since we are the one whose getting married we should decide things on our own then family will just be your support system. Lalo na were not on the same religion so we need to meet halfway for us to have a peaceful and happy realtionship. Its not always a happy days tho but always remember na at the end of the day kayo pa rin couple ang magsasama and will face the future. To the families rin always be the shoulder to lean on ng both sides pag may problema kasi it lighten up the load kasi pag alam mong nanjan sila wala namang perfect na relationship but we could be better if things will always be treated in a fair way.
