There's so much shipping container progress to share with you! In this week's video, Lou gives a sneak peek of what has been happening in the office shipping container over the past few weeks. The built-in storage system turned out so beautifully and next on the project list is getting our solar system set up. He decided to build a custom couch that will double as a storage unit for all the batteries and inverter. If you have any specific questions about our solar setup let us know! We want to make a video just about our off-grid power station in the future once it's done.
Also in this video, we make our first meal from the garden featuring some beautiful and delicious baby kale! I am in the process of making a meal planner and cannot wait to share these recipes with you soon.

It's so wonderful to see you interact with Max and him be so into all of the tools, pots, cooking, etc. I know that when they are learning it's great to just tell them what everything is. Like if he measures something, tell him how many inches he measured with the tape measure. If he has a toy hammer, he can count how many times he banged the hammer on something. I love how you let him be messy and assist where needed. I can't wait to hear him say words.

My children are now 21 and 28 I look back at maxes time and so wish I’d sat in the moment more and enjoy it even when I was tired out of my brain lots of love and hugs enjoy Max while he is so young

I cannot wait for the meal planner book. I borrowed one once that had a similar concept, but it was meat based. As a pescatarian it was very hard to work the substitutions over several meals from the same cooking day. It will be great to work from a vegan one. Not sure if this is against your principles, but it might have a wider market value if you note which ingredients are substituting for an animal based item such as dairy and eggs. We can all figure out if you use plant-based meats, poultry or fish. Also, I know you know what you are doing, but maybe you could explain the ventilation needs when you do the electrical installation. Batteries have come a long way in the past five years-and I know my 2010 Prius has a battery built under the back seat. So, having an explanation of the new requirements would be interesting.

Well... this upload sort of answers my question about the electrical... as I was surprised you didn't install circuits in the walls when you put them up. That cabinet system is a true work of art. I must have missed that video. It's going to be interesting to see you put this battery-holder couch together... I guess you'll be using batteries that don't need venting... but I wonder what you do about the heat they generate... other than use it for a seat warmer to keep your tushes warm... lol. Thanks for sharing this with us. I'll keep watching now and will probably get the rest of my questions answered. Oh... also great to see you starting to train/teach your son at such a young age.

Is the idea that the batteries will be under a couch not a little concerning? IF there is one that's defective or overheated it can explode or for sure bulge outwards. A couch is not going to contain that.

Couldn't you have a tiny table that lays flat against the kitchen wall (attached on one side with hinges)that you could drop down just to eat and then lock it against the wall when done using it? For winter meals.
