Debussy's "Syrinx: La flûte de Pan" is one of the most famous flute solos of all time. Written in 1913 as incidental music for the play "Psyché" by Gabriel Mourey, Debussy's "Syrinx" (alternatively titled "La flûte de Pan") evokes the ancient Greek story of Pan and Syrinx.

I'd do this with a metronome to cement note length relationships. I also think it's important pay attention to all of the expressive, tempo and dynamic markings. Note where the fermata is in the opening phrase, it's not on the b-flat itself. Debussy gives flutists oddly specific instructions in this piece that largely go unnoticed.

How do you make your low notes as loud as your high notes?

Great question! Low notes and high ones take different treatment of air. In general, the low ones need more and slower air than the high ones. Also, highs want to be louder so they need to be balanced down to sound equal.
