So update on the piano: Honestly it’s not really damaged. I read some piano techs forum before pooring the water and the general consensus was that one glass of water and your piano was messed up. I poured like 100 liters. I let it dry for 5 days and the keys are still completely stuck. But all I need to do Is remove them and put them back 10 times to loosen them up and then polish the keypins back from rust. Then it’s smooth again. Well this will take me a day but I’m recording a VST in different water levels so we can have a wet/dry knob on the software

It's absolutely fantastic. I love the fact that this project is impractical. but we can all learn what happens to the piano sound, when the instrument is filled with water. Projects like this drive the humanity forward into the future. There are no commercial reasons to do it, but it's super interesting to do and that's good enough to spend time and money on this.

there is. look up underwater guitars. they are easy compared to this. just seal it up after you plug in the aux/trs cable and seal it up, done. (you cannot change cable or ajust any knobs after you seal it, you seal them too!)

You should try adding baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to the water. It will make the water more dense, and change the speed and which sound travels through it. Which will change the pitch of the sound. Really, you can use any substance that dissolves in water like salt or sugar. But, salt would corrode anything iron, and sugar would just make a huge mess.

I did not record it but I talked with Impact soundworks because I want to record the different water levels. Then you could adjust the amount of depth in the VST. So I gotta go out and fix it once it’s dry!

I agree, since I own several aquarium tanks (20-300 gallons). Especially worried when he went INSIDE the pool of water. But if he only had 150 liters of water, that’s only 35 gallons making that about ~300 lbs...not much. I would be more worried about buckling pressure at the sides (horizontal) than vertical pressure. The legs were meant to hold a lot of weight, but the piano walls were not made to hold in water pressing outwards.

So let’s say i repair the keyboard so it’s good again. What would be the funniest prank with a water piano? I’ll tell you my ideas and I’m sure someone will one up me with a better one. So I think hiring a pro pianist would be kind of funny. Then just started watering the piano and saying it sounds a bit dry with a straight face. Other alternative would be to keep the lid closed and just let the water be inside and never mention it. Actually the funniest prank would be to have the piano full of water and as soon as the keys are pressed the piano levels outs to dump all the water through the keys.
