I am more than convince that Arthur deserves an academy award for best short documentary. He puts these series of Hollywood Graveyard so zealously and so well told. The way he briefly tell us about every single deceased celebrity with a perfect synopsis of each individual beginning, work, controversies and method of death. I would like him to feature the nitch of my favorite movie mogul Dino Delaurentiis who is interned in Communale Cemeterio in Torre Annuciatta, Italy.

Victor Hugo I was wondering where he was buried! I grew up just 4 houses away from were he wrote " Les Misérables ", in Guernsey, Channel Islands. He was in exile there and had big house in Hautville, or up town, with a view from his top floor that could see his beloved France on a clear day! His House is a museum and as he left it!

My wife and I have visited Paris several times and have spent many afternoons wandering the fascinating and beautiful Pere Lachaise Cemetery. We found the graves of the great actors Simone Signoret and Yves Montand close to the Columbarium. Their marriage and love story would have made a nice addition to your tour, btw. The great jazz violinist and collaborator with jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli is also buried there. Enjoyed the tour.

Ones I would have liked to have seen at Pere Lachaise: Colette (author of Gigi), Simone Signoret (Best Actress Oscar winner for Room at the Top), Eugene Delacoix (French painter), Jacques-Louis David (French painter), Heloise (11th century abbess, noted for her affair with Peter Abelard), Moliere (French playwright), Marcel Proust (French novelist - In Search of Lost Time), Gertrude Stein (American/French author), Alice B. Toklas; At Passy Cemetery - Gabriel Faure (French composer); I would have also liked to have seen a tour of Montparnasse Cemetery where Alfred Dreyfus is is laid to rest, but I understand time constraint only could do so much! Loved the video as always!

I‘m REALLY GLAD to see Oscar Wilde’s tomb looking fairly clean now, I guess the glass around it works. The first time I visited there in 1988 they hadn’t started that crap yet. Also I wish you had mentioned that Modigliani is buried with his partner Jeanne Hébuterne. She was a talented painter herself and it is tragic that she killed herself when he died.

Les Miserables was written on British soil. Victor Hugo wrote it while in exile in Guernsey, as well as completing hunchback of notre dame, in 20 years in Guernsey, he wrote more than in any other 20 year period. Belgium and Jersey lay claim to Victor Hugo in exile, and name streets etc where he lived, but he only lived in those places for up to 6 months. He finally found a home in Guernsey, his first period living in Guernsey was 16 years, then moved back to France, then moved back to Guernsey for another 4 years, before moving back to France again. He had planned to move back to Guernsey and spend the rest of his time on the island but fell ill and died before that could happen. He had to obtain special permission to buy Hauteville House where he lived, as he wasn't a British subject, he left the house in his will to his son. His son finally obtained permission of the Duke of Normandy (the British monarch) to give Hauteville House to the city of Paris, to be opened as a museum, the House is open to the public April to September, with guided tours by students of the University of Paris, so you are able to see where he wrote les miserables. Guernsey and the other channel islands are the personal property of the British monarch in their role as Duke of Normandy. Another great video, can't wait for more

This is my favorite Hollywood Graveyard video! I was fortunate enough to go on a school trip to Paris in 1989 and a few of us split off to ride The Metro to Pere Lachaise Cemetary to visit Jim Morrison's grave. We found his grave, and passed by Chopin's grave too. It was and remains the most fascinating cemetary I've ever visited. I could have spent days there, just walking around and viewing the ornate and beautiful monuments on most of the graves. It is my dream to go back and spend a few days walking through Pere Lachaise.

I hope you'll get that chance again. If you have family, take them with you. Maybe they might not share your desire to visit Pere Lachaise, but maybe they would be fascinated by some famous people they heard of, including Jim Morrison. What a trip that would be. There's another grave in Paris I want to visit. In Picpus Cemetery, where many victims of the Reign of Terror are laid to rest, is the grave of Gilbert du Motier, otherwise known as the Marquis de Lafayette, the hero of two worlds, who fought in the American Revolution. An American flag is always present over his grave.

@@timthorman7029 - To be fairer to Andrew's comment, Tim . . . Arthur plavced his narrative voice on to the 3-4 videos taken by the man who did a lot of his London, etc, camera work for his episodes. Mainly it was about authors and writers, musicians and songwriters, pop stars, film stars and many celebrity TV people. There might have been a few science people like Faraday, etc. But I think that Andrew was just speaking about so many more who also lie in Westminster and who were not shown at the time . . . this is just my own opinion by the way, nothing against what you said in your reply at all as in he did it. As a bit was done - but a lot more was also missed out on who is there so far . . .

What about Montparnasse Cemetery ? Lot of great people buried there. Such as Serge Gainsbourg, Bartoldi, Camille Saint-Saëns, Guy de Montpassant, Charles Baudelaire, Jean-Paul Sartre, Marguerite Duras, Samuel Beckett…

This might be one of my favorite videos you've done. I constantly forget how many people are buried in Paris. It was very awesome to see Modigliani's grave ( I turned and looked at my bookshelf of his art books) and I just kept saying "Holy..." They're buried there too!! Plus always great to see Oscar! And you used one of my all time favorite quotes! It's a bucketlist place for me 100%

What a great tour! I hope you do another video of France, because I think there's just a few more that would be great on the list. There's a lot I can think of, but here's a list for maybe in the future, whether you're in Paris or another region in France: *Père Lachaise* Jean-Nicolas Huyot (architect of the Arc de Triomphe) Peter Abelard Heloise (lover of Abelard) Bruno Bianchi (co-creator of "Inspector Gadget") Jean de Brunhoff (creator of the "Babar" books) Maria Callas (opera singer, ashes were scattered but empty urn is in cemetery) Colette (author of "Gigi", which the 1958 film is based off of) Gustave Doré (artist) Moliere Gertrude Stein *Cimetière de Verdelais* Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec *Cimetière du Trabuquet, Menton* Aubrey Beardsley (English illustrator and author) *Cimetière de Chăteau, Nice* Gaston Leroux (author of "The Phantom of the Opera) *Picpus Cemetery, Paris* Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette (American flag is by his grave, he is buried under soil from Bunker Hill) I know there's so many more graves to visit and reflect on the beautiful culture and history of France, but I hope you'll have a chance to visit these graves. They deserve recognition too.

This man is the absolute best. I agree with all. He should receive some sort of award for this work. Pulitzer, Emmy, Golden Globe, the Screen Guild members should acknowledge this fellow who brings us such great memories and accolades of stars present and past. Bravo.

I was fortunate enough to visit Paris back in 1984, and of course I made the trek to Pere Lachaise, spending an afternoon there visiting many of the graves you feature here--Chopin, Sarah Bernhardt, Balzac, etc. It was different then--there was a great deal of graffiti and "directions" marking the way to Jim Morrison's grave, which was not blocked off. I thought at the time that if the souls of the people buried near Morrison knew what was happening to their graves, they'd be pretty angry about it (nice to see it cleaned up now). Oscar Wilde's grave was not blocked off either, but I don't remember it being marked up that day (I do remember being awed at the sheer audacity of the tombstone, and reading that the carving was placed there some years after Wilde's death, by a woman benefactor and fan of his work). You more than do the cemetery justice, though you only scratched the surface of this remarkable place. Thank you for another wonderful video, and the trip down memory lane!

This is truly brilliant. I'm an opera singer and go to Paris often, but I've never been to Bizet's or Debussy's graves. Thank you so much. And from everyone at Munich Opera. Ich liege dich!

I went to Jim Morrisons grave in the 80's and it was disgraceful the amount of disrespect fans showed his grave. I am glad it is in better condition even if access is restricted. Another well done chapter! I hope my submissions make the next viewers special.

@doons403 Beats me. My picture of the grave in 1986 it is missing. It also looks like people have scribbled on the headstone with crayons.
