Jessica, Do you know who composed the music for the Harrison Ford film Blade Runner, and also the music for a series by Carl Sagan? He composed myriad scores for albums, including L' L'Apocolypse Des Animaux, Direct, Voices, China, Himalayas, and so many more. He also wrote music for documentaries, like one about The Plague. If you haven't guessed, he is a Greek better known as VANGELIS. When he died , a service was held at Père Lachaise, where he was cremated. His ashes were interred in the very columbarium you visited in this video. One to remember for the future . The actor Yves Montand is buried with his equally famous wife, Simone Signoret. It IS rather crowded around there. I'm not sure if they're buried near Edith Piaf? The seemingly interminable length of black marble, listing all those victims, on the outside of the cemetery is beyond comprehension, to the point where you ask yourself, how empty were the places they once lived in, in the aftermath of this great tragedy. Dont you think that the crypt containing the camera, awaiting it's eternal inhabitant, is a bit out of keeping with the architecture and statuary of the cemetery? If that is allowed, the Lord knows what outlandish monuments it will pave the way for 😮 Beautifully narrated, respectfully executed, and bravo 👏 .with the pronunciations ❤
@TheMuseumGuide3 күн бұрын
Didn’t Vangelis also do Chariots of Fire?

@TheMuseumGuide He did indeed. I have tons of his music, but there is so much more that I haven't got. He was quite prolific! If you're that way inclined, a gentle introduction would be a CD/download of his album "1492: The Conquest of Paradise. A shorter piece would be "The Bounty"

Callas not married to Onasis, though they both divorced their spouses to be married...:( sadly, in recent years items from the tombs (say an iron bat decor), have been stolen to be sold. The goth style of this decor is very popular now, and if you see a tomb torn up, it could be newer damage.

JUST INFERNAL !!! Since AI texts have existed, this is far the worst and most grotesque I've ever heard. Not a sentence without multiple errors, and not a famous name without it being mispronounced ! Your images are magnificent, but why did you put this unbearable AI voice in what should have been French, instead of leaving subtitles ?!? In addition, the voice doesn't match at all with what you say in English, unlike to a well dubbed film. And above all, what is the point of having put a text in French since we're in a Parisian cemetery that all French people know, at least by TV docs or French YT videos ?!? This is the first time I've seen an Anglo-saxon video presented like this. Your AI text is so ridiculous to listen to that I had to stop your beautiful video after barely ten minutes. A real waste due to the worst AI ever ! (I dont know if you have done the same for other languages, but even if it came from a good feeling on your part, I hope the result will have been less catastrophic than in French...)

@@TheMuseumGuide Incredible ! This is the first time in 15 years of watching YT everyday that something like this happened. Before your video I watched a dozen of other American videos on all sorts of themes, and as usual I put the English subtiles in order to be sure not to miss anything that is said. But instead of that, it was this unbearable AI in French that I heard, exactely as if you were dubbed. So imagine my amazement, especially that I haven't touch any other settings ! I'm truly sorry for what happened and I apologie for my first messge. I just hope that's not a new YT setting which would replace the subtiles ! This seems crazy since as I told you, I watched several videos just before yours without any problems of this kind, nor ridiculous French AI voice full of pronunciation mistakes, appearing from who knows where...)

@ it’s so terrible! I turned it off on my end on my channel- but I’m not sure if it will keep happening automatically! It’s a new trial.

Of course TMG, I admit it's absolutely uncomprensible. Even if at 68 yrs old I've visited this wonderful, magical and unique place an incalculable number of times since I'm a kid, I was happy and impatient to watch your video and listen to your comments about it. Since I heard this awful French AI instead of my usual English subs, I immediately thought it was you who put it there ! So I apolozige again for my mistake. But this mystery is not resolved yet ! The lazy retiree that I'm has been watching his YT's videos like every day, and the English subs were on all the videos I saw since noon. (I'll see on your next one if this stupid "French AI ghost" comme back, and I'll let you know...) Best regards to all ! ❤👍

@@Newyorkyankey8 oh, sorry! I only write blogs occasionally. My main value offer is the additional video every month! I will try to write more. :)
