As a child, I met him at Disneyland. He was doing some type of Disney special at the time back in the 80s. He was very kind. He was surprised that I recognized him because I was just a kid. But I loved ‘Little House on the Prairie’.

Many NFL players have acted, at least for a short time. Among those who come to mind are Jim Brown, OJ Simpson, Joe Namath, Terry Bradshaw. But I think the best and most versatile was Alex Karras, who played both dramatic and comedy roles. Who else could have played Mongo in Blazing Saddles? Nobody. Unfortunately, Alex was cremated and has no site to visit.

Merlin was born in Utah, went to college in Utah and there is a statue of him at Maverik stadium... at Utah State... his home was in Utah... I know he sought treatment for mesothelioma at the City of Hope hospital in Duarte California (not far away from his burial site)... but does anyone know why he is buried in San Gabriel instead of Utah?
