[FAN-MADE] Imagined concept for Sly Cooper 5! Although I don’t think this futuristic style in particular would fit the Sly Cooper series, it does have a couple interesting stuff! I’m a fan of Sly Cooper in CG style, and the possible story behind these artworks is something worth discussing!

What if sly 5 took place in the future but sly was still stuck in egypt. Without sly clockwerk was rebuilt by (insert main villan here) and clockwerk enterprises has taken over. In the present Bentley, Murray, and Carmelita kept looking for Sly in the past but never end up finding him. Then bentley gets an idea: what if sly wasnt transported into the past, but into the future (Sly is actually in egypt still). They go to the future and fjnd someone who looks a lot like Sly (maybe his kid). While the rest of the gang is looking for Sly in the future with the strange raccoon guy, sly writes some things in the Thevius Raccoonus which Dimitri sees because he was told to take care of the place while they were gone. The episodes would switch between Sly in egypt, trying to get the attention of them. And the gang looking for Sly in the future. (This would also help characters who havent had strong connections to make some).

I mean, could you imagine having to fight a Clockwerk cult fanatically devoted to that wretched bird? Plus, the fan art Pierre Mareschal depicting Clockwerk could introduce us to some stealth missions on avoiding that terrifying owl.

I have an idea of what Sly Cooper 5 should be about: The return of Clockwork In Summary the gang manages to rescue Sly from Egypt and suddenly see Clockwork appear out of a portal, then the Gang realizes that Clockwork is actually either from the Present or the Future and something caused him to go into the Past The game is basically Sly and the Gang trying to get rid of anything Time travel related, but at the same time Crime Syndicates are racing to achieve power across the Criminal Underworld

At this point i really care for a plot wrapping for sly rather than an actual new game. I'll take a comic starting from where we left sly over a wierd reboot any day.

Vivi : *drop a video at ~4pm* Me : Wait that illegal Yes but actually no 🤔 First thing I thought when I saw these pictures is Ghost in the Shell (the movie) : futuristic real city, one big company which has total power/control of the city, and which has bad intentions towards the population/lies about what it actually does (and defenetly fit Clockwerk). It's actually pretty cool too to see Sly and Paris, a little bit of realism, but not too much : it can be a "mixed world" : having a lot of futurisic technology (like holographic phones/billboards, flying buses, or bike, lot of science fiction things), but still have 21 Century technology (cars, roads, ....), and fictional things (as from the start in the Sly Cooper universe), but it depend in which year they got send (see next idea) It can be interesting, IF a new game(s) is developped, something gone wrong, like the time machine is damaged during the travel through time, they got a battle with a bad guy (boss), the only escape was to travel through time, but the villain just clings on the van, *fight scene*, one of the blows (can be do by a gun, or a fist) struck directly into the machine, the villain loses his balance and falls, being sucked into another era, and the gang got direclty send to this futuritic era. But I think eveyrone is sick of the time travelling situation. (I already think about very interesting scenarios, even if it's not time travel, that which bring out strong emotions to the characters, and see another side xD) Having a "new" Sly game in CGI can be an option, I'm not a big fan of it, but it can be intersting and "grab" more people in the franchise. (and with the ps5 demo we got, it can be really beautiful) The outfit system (you already talk a lot about it in the past, and I really like the idea) can be useful : even IF the next game comes out and does not take place in the future, you can still have outfit like this, can be some kinds of easter egg, or cool feature. Each outfit can have advantages/ disavantages I just really hope the PS5 can bring back lot of dead/forgotten franchise, that still have a lot person having people in it. Uh, this isn't Sly Cooper 5 when I was expecting for something. It's just a fan-made. I just expected for the cartoonish animation style for Sly Cooper 5. Not the realistic animation style just like the realistic style of Jak and Daxter 4 of the concept art by Naughty Dog games that I was unexpected it as well in my opinion. No offense, Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper fans. I only like the cartoonish styles of Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, and Sly Cooper series rather than the realistic styles.

Different suit, different move(mine hat, camouflage, and others that you learn in the first game + some new ones) different cane handle gives different reach and power, different heads give a boost to different abilities( a hacking head, but is very weak attack wise, bladed head, strong attack and speed, club head, very strong but slow)

I gotta admit as well. The art is really well made, gave it some unique Touch with the "future" part, but I also gotta agree, that it's a tad too unrealistic for my taste. Maybe in a more futuristic time, like Sly's Grand-Grand kids or something, It'd be a cool idea to play as one of his future kids in this futuristic world. Also, some kind of "religious" group or something for Clockwerk would be one hell of a "dark future" setting. But, in my opinion, that should be a more "what if"-scenario, like, what if Sly didn't beat Clockwerk back in Sly 1 or Clockwerk never got into actual touch with the Cooper-family line at all, like, doing his own thing over all this time, slowly developing into this futuristic time. (I'm getting some heavy Sonic Underground vibes from this sort of timeline as well lmao) New kind of outfits with different abilities would be interesting, since Sly 4 also gave a wardrobe function with the Warden Outfit, being fire resistant and all, the sabretooth coat with that "animalistic" jump y'know, it wouldn't be exactly entirely new to the series. Also considering "new canes", Bentley once modified Sly's original cane into the "wall climbing" canes, back in Jean Bisons chapters in Sly 2. My guess is, Bentley could easily add some stuff to the cane or just simply build new canes if necessary. Oh, gentle reminder, you wanted to read my short story about my idea of Sly 5, or at least, you forgot feedback ^^ That's it from my part, till next time ^^

I think for me, Sly 5 in the future could work in some way or form and not much about time travel but focusing on future sly where he is probably broken in terms of emotionally broken because clockwerk did something to him or killed someone close to him and sly wanting to have revenge and having unending pain of guilt when he's older, Trying to make sense of the world he lives in. (At least that's my take on the potential next game, Whether or not it gets developed by another studio or maybe a fanmade game that someone could do based on cyberpunk 2077 or Beyond good and evil game). 😅🙂

Please tell me that this Sly 5 Fan-Made Art doesn't feel like that Sly could be traveling into the future. But, we could use Future Sly as a different form of Sly in a multi-verse like Spider-Man 2099 and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Last Ronin Story, which is that they both take place in the future across the multiverse. So we should have Sly travel across the multi-verse and meet different counterparts of himself including Future Sly. Just getting a little inspiration from Sonic because we have Classic, Modern, Boom, and 2020 Movie Sonic. So I'm hoping that we get a Sonic Game featuring Classic, Modern, Boom, and 2020 Movie Sonic

SlyPunC 0093R: Cyber thieves. The PS2 games took themselves more seriously then most earlier gen titles, and later gen titles took themselves so seriously that they started trying to emulate real life. This puts PS2 games like sly in an interesting situation, where they aren't concerned with being seen as realistic but still want it to feel real, so they kind of seem like their own worlds and to an extent seem surreal is you squint hard enough. So it makes sense they deal with darker themes, because they seem like they're set up to feel more real then even most actually realistic games, so making sly more visually realistic probably would detract from that feeling, because when people talk about these games feeling mature and dark they're usually not talking about the visuals, but some designers tend to think that what everyone means. Great art still, the thing about art is it doesn't take as long as game design and there's less limitations so you don't detract from building the world as much by spending more time on detail. RPG elements like mechanic alterations and armor/wardrobe would be cool, seeing what Bentley could come up with in the future would be interesting, not sure if a skill tree would be sly's style, maybe you can unlock slots for passive items and button combinations for active ones. A good question is how would any of this even come to be? I'd say after freeing sly from Egypt, the antagonist in Egypt, Clockwork, breaks the time machine so it only goes forward and they go too far in the future, so they try to go back but need the correct parts and help from people in the future, so each jump goes further and further into the future until they eventually fix the machine and go back, bringing Clockwork back to Egypt, having erased his memory of the events?

I'd imagine a point in time where Sly gets rescued, and Bentley surprises Sly with new tech aka wardrobe. Bentley does this because he'd feel there's impending doom on the way, he followed his gut.

While the futuristic setting does look cool I’m just not a fan of the overall design for Sly it feels like there’s a little too much detail if you know what I mean, also not only would I love to see a wardrobe system added but I think they should add an objectives system as well where you can complete side quests for different rewards. Also, do you think Sony will reconsider doing the Sly Cooper movie if the TV show is successful or do you think the movie is a lost cause at this point?

I want the series to end the way it always was: cartoon-like in modern day with walking talking animals. But that's only to conclude the Sly Series. Sly’s 5 (or to stretch it a bit, 6) should definitely focus on the future... in fact... 5 should take a break from the time travel as a bit and set it in present day and finish off Whatever is left of Bentley’s arc, and have 6 be the overall conclusion set in the future.

What I mean by “taking a break from Time Travel” are the Ancestors specifically and save them for 6 as a conclusion similar to 4, only all of them play a role including Sly’s father.

Hmm, it's a nice idea. But in order for this to happen, we have to rescue Sly from Ancient Egypt first. If Sly 5 does happen, maybe they'll go the route of Sly 3 in terms of story. Meaning we'd get the story through flashback and play through the episodes leading up to the present day. In order to make this exciting, let's have a girl rescue Sly, perhaps a half-sibling or a new character entirely. It's high time we have more female members of the Cooper gang, or at least more female characters. Maybe she's the fail safe that was trained to be a master thief in case something happened to Sly. I will agree with the idea of RPG-esque things for Sly's suits, this wardrobe system sounds like a good idea. As for the Clockwerk thing, sounds like either it could be Penelope or else someone who is a half-sibling or cousin of Sly Cooper, tired of playing second fiddle and being invisible to Sly's family. On the other hand, I went a little different in terms of story.

I would rather continue where Thieves in Time left off. I save the futuristic stuff maybe for Sly 6 where his & Carmelita's kids go through that era. Check out "Deceit of Thieves". There's still Slytunkhamen, Slaigh, Henriette, Thaddeus, Otto & Sly's parents! Sly's father Conner is a thief, so Sly's mom should be a cop!

​@@VtnVivi But in all seriousness, you can relate to both Batman and Sly Cooper. They both lost their parents, fight criminals, and have their own type of justice. The only difference between them is that Batman is good, and Sly himself is a bad guy. And if you've heard of Lupin the Third, you would know that Sly and Lupin are kind of similar to each other as well, being the world's greatest thief, have a gang, and are constantly being chased by the same cop who is bent on capturing you. Only difference with the cops is that in Lupin the cop (Zenigata) is a descendant of of his grandfather who are wanting to send Lupin to prison, while Sly Cooper has a cop who is female fox (AKA: Sly's girlfriend) that wants to catch Sly but knows that Sly has his own justice and Carmelita is a target of many men in the fandom (in the wrong way).
