So far you're the only one still making Sly Cooper videos and I love it. And yes this is really a curious and intrigant topic in the franchise. Considering that the Egypt level was considered as the first main level and even a DLC chapter, but both were just scrapped, shows they wanted to add that part of the story in any way to fit the game. Still wondering if there is ever gonna be an explanation or sequel to this. Great video! I loved your theorical explanation, blowing.

You're forgetting one very important thing here, CLOCKWERK! Here's lived since the time of Slytunkhamen, and held a grudge against the Cooper Family so strong that he made himself a Robot in order to end them once & for all, so I think that Sly ended up in a time when Clockwerk was still organic, and it may have been up to Sly to teach his ancestor how to be a great & noble thief, and the boss of the Egypt level would have been Organic Clockwerk, and once he is defeated, Clockwerk swears he will end the Cooper Family no matter how long it may take, which would mean that Sly started Clockwerk's grudge against the Cooper Family, and he convinces Slytunkhamen to create a vault for the Cooper Family Fortune, and write a Book to contain all of the Cooper Family's greatest secrets & techniques, but then Sly writes a letter to Bentley in the future, and hides it within the cover of the book, Bentley then notices the letter in the present, and realizes that Sly is in Ancient Egypt, then uses the Time Machine to retrieve Sly from the past, and the the 5th Sly Game can pick up not too long after That.

If Sly faced Clockwerk in the past, Clockwerk would've remembered Sly....unless pretending he didn't know him was part of his plan if let's say Clockwerk returns? The Thievius Raccoonus must've started as Papyrus scrolls. With time, these scrolls and writings got re written in a book hence the same writing for each page. I always believed Sly accidentally caused Clockwerk to go mad yeah.

@@VtnVivi Very late to this but maybe Clockwerk couldn’t remember Sly after all that time? His hatred of the Cooper Clan by the time of the first game is so strong and he is so far from a natural being at that point that all the Coopers probably look the same to him. After all those modifications and millennia of hatred I would not be surprised at all if he couldn’t remember Sly from Ancient Egypt. Personally I do really like the theory that Sly IS Slytunkhamen and it’s all a massive bootstrap paradox and Sly is the first and last cooper

@@VtnVivi The OP just summarised my exact idea for how the story could continue, except instead of a note in the book (which may have been rewritten like you said) he leaves some clue in ancient Egypt that leads present day Bentley to realise Sly is there. Maybe he becomes Slytunkhamen and builds one of the pyramids with a secret message or something that will last to the present for Bentley to discover. The question would be how Bentley stumbles across it or how they didn't notice it before.

I would want the story to continue in the 5th game. I like to think of the plot being about Sly navigating in ancient Egypt, where he meets his ancestor, Slytunkhamen. With some helpful meddling, Sly becomes responsible in creating his clan and the Thievious Raccoonus (which he uses to inform Bentley about his whereabouts). But his actions also led to the creation of his bloodline's immortal nemesis, which is Clockwerk. Clockwerk, in theory, may be the result of a former high-ranked official/noble who used the wreckage of Le Paradox's time blimp to become the mechanical being he was in the future. And his hatred on the Cooper clan was derived from Sly and Slytunkhamen meddling in his affairs that led to his ruination

Ok, this is crazy theory: In the playstation UI reveal, they showed Sly Cooper as avatar. an easier explanation for the Vault Key could be that the lock is changed each time there's a new inheritance. the last one was Sly's Father and Sly is using his dad's cane.

Clockwerk's Brain was in Le Paradox's time machine at the end of Sly 4, in the prologue, when we use Bentley for the 1st time in Sly 4, when Bentley "kills" the rats, if you wait to hack the computer and you look around you will see that.

I can picture Sly going back to ancient Egypt where he meets Slytunkhamen BEFORE he became a master thief, so Sly has to teach him some of the basics of being a thief, like getting intel and such in order to get him started, thus starting his family legacy.

If Sly Cooper 5 was made here is what I would see how the beginning goes. Bentley is at the river where the site of the incident happened and he finds the black boxes of Le Paradox’s Time Machine much to his hope. He takes them and goes back to his lab to analyze the data where he can find the last known input of the Time Machine. Once he found the last known input he goes back to Murray and Carmelita and tells them “I know where Sky’s gone to when the blimp disappeared” and then Murray and Carmelita are so relieved to hear what Bentley said. Murray will be like “How” and Bentley will be like “Thanks to my amazing foresight Le Paradox’s Time Machine was fitted with Black Boxes”. After that Bentley, Murray and Carmelita can use Bentley’s Time Machine fitted in Murray’s van after finding the Ancient Egyptian item to go back in time to Ancient Egypt and find Sly Cooper and I can imagine that upon arrival when Bentley, Murray and Carmelita finally found Sly Carmelita would run to him and kiss him and hug him. Finally after a reunion they would go back to the van but just as they were about to go home they hear a scream in which they follow the screaming to find that Sly Cooper’s Ancient Egyptian ancestors is being held against his will by Bentley’s ex-girlfriend Penelope. I’d imagine Sly Cooper saying “Let him go” and Carmelita saying “Penelope, you are going to be on Death Row for escaping Europe’s highest security prison”. Thus the player must rescue Sly’s ancestor, defeat Penelope and then Sly, Carmelita, Bentley and Murray can all go home with Penelope now handed over back to the authorities. For Carmelita to make up for Sly for not giving him the chance to explain himself the two would stay in Carmelita’s place. Sly and Carmelita would get drunk with champagne, hug and kiss each other hardcore and sleep for the night. The next day Sly would go back to meeting Bentley and Murray, for Carmelita she’s find Sly’s calling card saying “Thanks for the night” and thus a new story of Sly Cooper 5 begins.

I just thought how this would make the most sense, it would be better in the story of Sly 5 that Sly uses pieces of La Paradox's time machine to travel forward back into the present, while also meeting his other ancestors along the way, them helping him. =) That way we can see more of Sly's family, and continue on the series. It would make the most sense to put Clockwork back into the picture, in order to show what cause his hatred for the Cooper Clan. I say it was an "accident" on Slytunkhamen's part, that cause the animosity.

@@VtnViviThere doesn't have to be a guarantee Vi, it could make Sly time travel at random during certain parts of the game, and also into the next episode. Like for an example, say Sly has the main part of La Paradox's time machine, and he tries to fiddle with it, sees if it still works. But then the time stream starts to surround him, taking him through time, but going forward in time. It can work with the story, like let's imagine the main part to the time machine( La Paradox's) got damage so bad,(let's call it the "heart") it permanently got set to somehow go forward instead backwards, like in Sly 4, but, by it being damage so bad, it can only start sending him forward, but at a slow pace, that is, in between time periods, but it starts to send him forward faster as the game progresses. depending on the writer this could lead to Karin Coopergiwa, since she's the only genius we know in the Cooper Clan that can help Sly. Plus, Sly wouldn't need old pieces from Egypt to piece it on the modern technology, of the time machine, if it can be helped. But then again, in most things I've watched on time travel, combining pieces from the past, that can be perfectly matched, with technology of the present/future can work given the situation.

Oh but also you know what I really love about crash 4 it’s about time? The world map layout because it’s so similar to crash 1 and doesn’t copy the warp room style of cortex strikes back and warped. Toys for bob really knew what they were doing right? I’m glad they didn’t do a wrath of cortex because the less said about what TT tried to do the better. I mean I still liked their ways room design but the layout in its about time is just so much better. What do you think overall?

La paridox was an art collector so he already had all the items he needed to go to those time periods and since Bentley and penelope worked together to make the time machine and la paridox being a little inpatient Penelope didn't have time or help to figure out how to improve the design so you wouldn't need an iteam from each time period

Slytunkhamen Cooper II will be a boss character? I don't think that's gonna happen. Because Slytunkhamen is one of Sly's ancestors. And Sly would never attack or hurt to his own ancestors: his own family. Never, because that's impossible. I was guessing that maybe when the the paradox's blimp malfunction just send him conveniently to ancient Egypt. But you might have a point that, the possible reason of him ending up in ancient Egypt was through his cane. And the possible chance that's Sly did help created his family legacy, in Egypt.

VTNVIVI I have a question. Who would you want Sly's daughter to be? I'm asking this for an idea as to who she will be. I've technically already created her character. But this book is for the fans of Sly Cooper. For the people who know him best. I really don't think I'll hit that spot just right. Honestly, I was expecting the game to end with Sly meeting his father, and Sly having to make sure to not cause a full-on paradox of not being born.

What I think happened is that Le Paradox set Ancient Egypt as the first time and location for the voyage he planned for Sly and Carmelita. Of course, due to the blimp’s destruction, the program was completely cut off and not continued. I do believe that Le Paradox’s time machine is based on Bentley’s blueprints, seeing as how Penelope made both of the time machines. Sly’s cane can’t even be close to the object needed to travel there; as noted in Sly 3, the Egyptian khopesh canes that Slytunkhamen II used (which were also his father’s canes) are different from Sly’s cane. It also confuses me as to how some of the canes (like Slaigh MacCooper’s caber cane with a stone crook or Thaddeus Winslow Cooper III’s cane with a ruby embedded into the crook) could open the vault door. There are quite a few reasons why Sly Cooper is not Slytunkhamen Cooper. Sly reassembled the Thievius Raccoonus, which isn’t the same as creating it. I also might add that Sly had to read Slytunkhamen’s notes in order to learn how to turn invisible.

@@VtnVivi ​Yes, he would... but I feel like his plan was to send that scrapped villain (namely the lizard) to Egypt to retrieve Slytunkhamen's cane. This must have been altered because of the developers' goals. They wanted the game to fit on the PS Vita, and the Egypt episode would have made the game too big for that console. As for Le Paradox and Egypt? Well, this may have been changed from Le Paradox sending someone into the past to retrieve Slytunkhamen's cane to him setting it as a place and time for the voyage. I bet he picked lots of places, regardless of whether or not there were Cooper canes.

So we have teasers, tweets, a full DLC script (maybe even a bit developed), there is a trailer for a movie, there were plans for a series. Numerous interviews that have people talking about it and saying that they would love to work on it, and a few hints in other games that keep mentioning sly. A community that has been wondering for about 6 to 7 years and last but not least the owner of Sony who liked a tweet about Sly.... Yet we are here completely clueless, we deserve answers honestly. They simply can not leave us hang here!

I feel like one major issue is that if Sly met his ancestor, (sorry. Not even going to attempt spelling Slytun- yeah, not trying), he would have left a note in the Thievious Raccoonus. But that would be instantly noticable in the present, so if there was no message, Sly never had access to the book. If we go off of your theory that he fights with his ancestor, what if the ancestor won? Maybe Bentley and Murray could get the itch to steal again, and rob a museum, where they find Sly's cane and a mummy possibly? From there they would have the knowledge of Sly's location, and be able to go search for him. And fix everything. In all honesty though, I want Clockwerk to have some relevance. He's the best villain, and I'd like some historical context to his backstory.

@@VtnVivi Not permanently. More like, in a historical context he does, so Bentley and Murray go back to save him. Think of it kind of like how in Back to the Future 3, they found Doc's gave from the 1800's, and went back to stop him from dying.

Man you know, if we could've have that cliffhanger, none of this would've happen. I really wish Sanzaru had more time to develop Sly 4 and then release it on the PS3 and PS4 in late 2013 during the PS4 debut and also, Sanzaru will add some DLC content in Sly 4! I really miss Sly Cooper and I wish Sony would've acquired Sanzaru already so they would have Sly return on the PS5 before Oculus does and then everything would be ok, right? During the 2020's, 2022 is going to be the 20th Anniversary of Sly Cooper and 2023 is going to be the 10th Anniversary of Sly Cooper Thieves in Time! You know, I would have the Sly Cooper PS5 Remaster/Remake Collection with Sly 4 in 2022 and Sly Cooper 5 in 2023 and you know what I'm thinking? We should have Sucker Punch or BluePoint Studios owning Sly Cooper and Sly will be home and plus, they will get started in making Sly 5 and other future Sly projects!

Hmmmm... A boss fight between Sly and Slytenkamen..I feel it could be great if it ends up having a fruit come forth..the creation of Clockwerk?? I have a strange feeling He actually originated in Egypt, not in the ice age..really.. I feel Bob Cooper is just the gene courier/ archetype for a Cooper...like he is the first Cooper, to start a specific gene pool or something..and Slytenkamen is the first Master Theif..hence the T.R. Spot on, about the cane detail...perhaps the coordinates for Egypt would've been FROM Sly's Cane?? Not a glitch..so many things up to one's interpretation...it feels like Bioshock Infinite One thing's for sure..the best ideas end up being cancelled..beta/cut content is so interesting... Egypt episode would've been awesome!

When it comes to Sly fighting his Egyptian ancestor, that kind of reminds me of the ending of Infamous. In the good ending, Cole winds up having to accept that he and Kessler are one and the same. I’d imagine that if Sly fought Slytunkhamen, the former would wind up with no choice but to accept that he has destroyed himself completely... merely out of ending the beginning of the greatest expansion of the Cooper legacy. If Slytunkhamen did not expand the Cooper legacy, the cane would be the only thing left, and Slytunkhamen II’s birth would probably be prevented, especially when we take into account the damage he took from fighting Sly. However, this doesn’t mean that Slytunkhamen and Sly are the same person. It simply means that everything would stop because of the butterfly effect.

Le Paradox, his character and boss fight was an absolute joke. He was just a Sly Cooper rip-off and the fight was mostly a button-masher and we all know how those do well. I mean I wish Le Paradox was an actual threat, make him a rival to Conner Cooper, make him more threatening, make him laugh about the death of Sly's parents (after he figured what happened to them), make him make fun of Sly for being (what Le Paradox thinks) a Conner Cooper 2.0. And make his backstory about his abusive (or neglectful) relationship with his father. NOW THAT is how you make a good villain!
