Great video! Keep up the good work. I noticed you were using the Porsche 918 wheel in the begining of the video. How was it with the CSL DD? Any issues? And how did it feel? Thanks

Thank you! The Porsche 918 has been an AMAZING wheel on all Fanatec's wheel bases I've used it on. The only issue I had is the leather was very smooth when it was new. It took about 2 weeks of continuous use to get it broke in.

You can change the rotation amount in the garage when selecting a car on the right top corner in raceroom. You probably have it to 900 degrees or something
@Steeboohken
@Steeboohken 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I tried that but it did not work. I'm having to change the degrees of rotation in Fanatec's firmware menu to match the rotation settings RaceRoom has listed for each car. So if RaceRoom has a car's steering listed at 352 degrees I have go into the Fanatec settings and change the CSL DD's degrees of rotation to 352. That's only way I could work around the issue🤷🏿‍♂️

@@Steeboohken hmm, strange, do you have some kind of drivers running for controllers in the background? I think something liks Vjoy could also effect the way the controller runs

Good stuff once again. I was wondering about your experience with the needed rigidity of your rig; I currently use my CSW2.5 just fine on a lean ass wheelstandpro, do you think this DD needs considerably more rigidity in the rig than the CSW? Also about the dirt rally/thrustmaster comments, wtf man! How dare you not validate my purchases!! lol
@Steeboohken
@Steeboohken 2 жыл бұрын
The CSL DD is about 1.5lbs heavier than the CSW2.5 and all the CSL DD's weight is packed into a 6in cube. I think the weight distribution and ffb inertia of the CSL DD would make a Wheelstand Pro prone to collapse or tip over. I don't think it's impossible to enjoy the CSL DD on a wheelstand but I'd recommend using something a little more stout if possible.

Hey man, nice video but i'm one of the guys you triggered lol, i would just like to know the reason you say thrustmaster is king in dirt games! Thanks

I think the force feedback and vibration from my T300RS and TS-XW does a better job at simulating the springy-ness of a vehicle's suspension traveling quickly over loose and undulating terrain. The built-in mechanical tension in Fanatec's belt driven wheelbases makes cars in rally games or Wreckfest feel like they have a broken or lagging power steering pump. Although the CSL DD does not have the built-in mechanical tension, it also doesn't feel like it is simulating suspension spring, weight transfer, and that floaty feel of a car skipping across a bumpy surface. WRC 10 is the only rally game Fanatec wheelbases feel decent in, but I notice some force feedback dead spots in other rally style titles.

So do you like this better as the Clubsport V2.5?
@Steeboohken
@Steeboohken 2 жыл бұрын
That is a REALLY good question! I'd say I prefer using the CSL DD over the V2.5 except when I'm playing rFactor 2. The force feedback in rFactor 2 is really detailed but can be really overbearing in my opinion. I think the natural linearity of the V2.5 makes rFactor 2 a lot more pleasant the play.
