I'm not going to change thumbnail because it would just cause confusion to anyone reading comments in the future. Like people are commenting, this is probably/ maybe a "feature", simulating tires coming into contact with fenders on a car lowered too much. The problem is it's not obvious at all, and also "simulates" force feedback and wheel issues which lots of people have been seeing with this new wheel including me. But I also noticed it happening on a time trial with a fixed setup front wheel drive car with a GT DD PRO, so that reason doesn't completely explain everything. Examples: (link takes you right to the point in vid it happens on the Civic time trial) kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYLVn2Rmo9KSg80si=0qPtmU3E4XzH3Fvu&t=293 kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYLVn2Rmo9KSg80si=hUTXkVs1VsH9ALWI&t=305 I'm going to investigate further.

This isn't caused by your steering wheel as I have experienced this on two Thrustmaster wheels. This is the suspension bottoming out and the cars wheels hitting the car body or wheel arches preventing the steering from moving until the suspension unloads. You need to either raise up the suspension, stiffen it up or remove wheel spacers or wide rims. I don't think this is a bug, rather the games way of feeding back that the car is too low and the suspension is bottoming out and the wheels are hitting the body and that in real life you would feel it through the steering wheel or body of the car or at least a horrible rubbing noise and wear on your tyres and damage.

@bwx_gaming7 ай бұрын
Yup I think you might be right. I'm going to do some testing,. It did happen to me on that Honda Civic online time trial at Maggiore with a fixed setup though. Maybe it's a feature, or maybe it's a bug that acts like a feature. Not sure if it's intended by PD or not? It would be cool if it was a fleshed out feature, and maybe the steering wheel would vibrate really bad like it would in a real car, and have the game give you some sort of warning or indication. It acts a lot like wheel/ force feedback issue or bug.
@TheRZBM7 ай бұрын
@@bwx_gaming yep the Civic time trial was annoying as it would bottom out on some corners leaving you without steering input briefly. Definitely they could improve it by making the steering stiffen up but not just completely stick and go limp and like you say it should vibrate or something to make it a bit more obvious something is going on.
@TheRZBM7 ай бұрын
@@SiQuemaCuhh I imagine the reality is some cars will have a bit of wheel rubbing if they are driven hard though I think most cars would be tested hard to avoid this and probably it’s just a combination of the suspension in the game being softer than the real life car and the wheel and tyre specs and spacing being slightly off.
@bwx_gaming6 ай бұрын
This comment was in the "held for review" box for some reason. I have no idea why. Yeah I don't mind that it reacts to that real physics issue but it would be cool if the wheel vibrated and maybe the game made a sound like it would in real life. As it is, it's just confusing unless you realize what's happening. It would be really cool if they fleshed it out a little and made sure it didn't happen on stock tunes.

Cool thanks for feedback. Yeah I did update the wheel / base / and QR firmware. Had to downgrade to 455 driver and firmwares on wheel and base because of that disconnect issue. That's crazy. This is a really good video. Sony, Polyphony Digital and Fanatec should all look into this. They might learn some thing about tuning the force feedback for all wheel bases, when investigating how this one is not working properly. I don't have this problem. However, with some of the past Gran Turismo updates, there was such a lack a feeling mid-corner in GT3 cars that if you weren't looking at the screen and listening to the tires you would have no ability to save a spin or slide. Your problem probably has to do with being a new product. But, I think this is a great video and I hope it gets some of their attention. I'm sure you'll get sorted out soon enough.
@bwx_gaming7 ай бұрын
Thanks, I think it might be a "feature" like people are saying in comments, "simulating" tires coming into contact with fenders on lowered cars. My wheel is working pretty good with the combination of firmwares I have installed on base, wheel, and QR. I think the bottom FFB slider being raised up in GT7 FFB settings helps with that numb feeling you get sometimes, I know what you mean about that. Even with this crazy wheel it does feel numb sometimes. Most of the time it's really good though.

as a few have mentioned - not the wheel and not a bug. It's a feature of the game, you have tuned the car and lowered so much that the front wheels can't turn in the arches. Lift the car and you'll see the problem will be gone. Source: I had this same exact issue when the game launched and I thought "lower is better" for every cars suspension.
@bwx_gaming7 ай бұрын
Yeah now that people are mentioning that, I do also remember that happening when GT7 first came out and I realized what what going on at the time, but I don't remember it acting exactly like that. So I maybe it's a little different now, but I tend to agree. The weird part is that it happens on stock tunes such as on that Maggiore Honda Civic Online time trial where it was happening on a fixed tune car. It would be cool if it were more obvious, like vibrating the FFB and making a nasty noise like what would happen in a real car with tires rubbing fenders. I actually like "features" like that, adds to realism.. of course on replays the tires just clip through the fenders.

@bwx_gaming2 ай бұрын
Yeah I think it's a bug or "feature" in GT7 where if you use wide wheels and/or lower suspension too much, the tires gets bound up in the wheel well of the car. A way to test it is to raise suspension or put on regular wheels. Once in a while a stock tune will do this too though so I think it's more of a bug than feature! If PD fleshed it out and made it make some grinding noises and had some FFB vibes when it happened it would actually be a cool realistic feature.
@bwxmoto2 ай бұрын
I just checked out your vid and yeah it looks a little different. I wonder if you have stock wheels and tires and stock suspension on it? Maybe this bugs acts a little different in new update too. They did change a lot with the suspension and steering.

And if it is stock, I wonder if you upgraded suspension, and then raised it way up in the front, if it would still do it? That would at least narrow it down I guess.

Yeah that I would consider a bug. I noticed it happened in an online time trial with fixed setup on a Honda Civic quite a while ago.
