sometimes the wheel seems to reboot itself other times it doesn't and I have to reboot it manually

Still no response. Corsair so far seem to be brushing off my request for help. Do I have to start legal proceedings to get my property back? Afaik a company can't hold your property without your permission to do so. I knew Fanatec customer service was bad, but I had no idea it could be borderline criminal.

Update Corsair kicked Fanatec where it mattered. They've found the fault, a dodgy "PCBA". £160 for a fix after they waved the shipping fee (£35).

This happens because the clamp that holds the shaft has loosened up a little with the time and usage. What you need to do is to get an appropriate allen key, loosen up the clamp, push the shaft all the way back, and tighten it back as tight as you can. I also have the tendency to pull my wheel in heavy breaking scenarios, and this happens often to me as well. That's some poor design on Fanatecs side. I haven't tried it myself, but others suggest that upgrading the quick release mechanism solves it for them permanently.
@mattikake98598 күн бұрын
@@TheAgent012 I did that about 15 times. I also tried a qr2. No difference. It turned out to be a "PCBA" fault which Fanatec took 3 months to repair.

same issue with mine i read someone replaced the type c cable so i did same and it hasn't disconnected since
@mattikake985928 күн бұрын
@@Dia_dhuit it's the clamp most of the time. Reseating can work for a bit but it will do it again. My 2nd wheel has started doing the same thing. If seems if you pull on the wheel when your brake or get an oversteer moment, it's too easy to break the connection but my wheel shaft never moved enough for it to come out, to I'm not buying that reason.

I can't imagine paying all that money for problems and headaches.

@@storyman34 It was over 2 years old. It's gone to Fanatec for a "2 week" repair... 6 weeks later and no news :( Fortunately I got a 2nd hand one from CEX who delivered it in less than 24 hours.

So I had this issue a few weeks ago…switched to qr2 shaft and it’s 💯

Try 8nscrew the clamp pull the shaft and reconnect and retighten the clamp. Might be disconnecting

@jamesh460 that is running a qr2... fanatec have finally got back to me (after I threatened legal action to corsair) and they say there is a fault with the pcba on the wheelbase itself. Waiting for parts.
@mattikake9859Ай бұрын
@jamesh460 yeah. Must've reseated all that lot 15 times. Clamp was as tight as I could possibly get it.

It seems I need to have a crash or get a big swapper for a ffb spike to make it disconnect. So I'm deliberately crashing here.

I had similar problem wheel kept disconnecting . The fix was to loosen the clamp near the base , ensure the wheel was inserted fully in . Then re tightening the clamp. I believe there is a section in the gt dd pro manual about re setting the spindle . I must have pulled mine slightly out of the C connection inside when braking and pulling on wheel.
@mattikake98592 ай бұрын
@@hip62 yeah I had reseated the clamp and connector about 15 times. It would work for a bit then disconnect. I couldn't get the clamp any tighter than I had it. Then I bought a qr2 as people said that works, but nope, video above is with a qr2. It might be the connector at the wheelbase end or something else wrong with it. Fanatec have now had this wheel for repair for 2 months, and so far, not a word. :(
