Thanks for the video not too many people put tree seat videos out . My most remembered moments were there was 3 sometimes 4 of us from high school that would get together and squirrel hunt with shotguns but one of the guys always used reloaded shell's until he realized that the shell's he had didn't have any powder in them and the shot would just roll out the barrel after trying to take a shot , we all laughed about it at the time and gave him 3 or 4 shell's so he could hunt . Oh good ole days .

My best day hunting was with my 14 yo daughter and my Dad . We were buck hunting . My dad was on stand with her while I was out pushing the woods . When I heard her rifle go off I was very confident she was successful because of her marksmanship skills . When I made my way to them they were both standing by the 6 point she harvested! Her first Pa buck ! VERY PROUD DAD MOMENT !!

My most memorable deer hunt was in Llano Texas. I was hunting a lane that dropped off so anything approaching in front of me would be approaching to me coming up a hill. The sun was shining through the mesquites when suddenly I saw what looked like huge deer horns “on fire”! I had never seen anything like it. I did not have binoculars but his G2 looked to be at least 9 inches. When the buck made his way over the hill buck fever took over, heart pounding. It was a big body whitetail but did not appear to be in rut. His neck was not big as what is usual during the rut. I did not take him because he was moving around so much that I could not get a good shot. I told my story around the campfire and was laughed at and teased so much that I was embarrassed and second guessing what I really saw. The next morning I headed back to try again, remembering the laughs and jokes. Settled into the stand, planning what I would do if “ol fire rack” showed up again. What do you know, here he came, that rack appearing well before his head. He still appeared to be nervous and paced back and forth. I was able to get a broadside shot when he stopped for a second. He jumped a ran out of site. Then the shakes started, and thoughts of the day before, the camp fire laughs and jeers. The time seems like it was dragging while waiting to go check this big boy out. Well, the jokes ended up being on my hunting buddy’s, The reasons the horns looked like they were on fire was because abuse the deer was still in velvet and the sun shining on them made the velvet shine. It was a 12 point with a drop tine, G2 was 12 1/2 inches. This deer was actually what is sometimes referred to as a stag. It did not have testicles, and had probably never shed its antlers. I was later told by an older hunter that most hunters never get a chance to take a trophy like this. I was one proud lady that season!

I have a Millennium G100 (the one with 3 legs so you can use it anywhere) and I have the low down hunting seat. They both are excellent seats and are well worth their price. I use the millennium the majority of the time and I've killed half a dozen deer out of it. I'm 320lbs and it is unbelievably comfortable. I've sat over 5 hours in it countless times and doesn't make any noise when shifting or swiveling. The low down is very comfortable too but it's biggest plus is it's size, it folds up tiny and only weighs 2.5lbs. I use it when I'm hunting further from the truck and I do not want to carry the heavier Millennium. I would definitely recommend either but I use my Millennium G100 3 legged chair the most, by far...

But I do enjoy it still as life has went on even if I get something or not I just find my younger days my best hunt(s) just cause I could enjoy it more. My most memorable hunt was back in the spring of 2008. I was invited along with three other coworkers to Saskatchewan Canada for a week long spring black bear hunt. We hunted at Larson Lake Outfitters which was a top notch operation featuring bear, waterfowl, elk and whitetail hunts. Within 3-4 days everyone had tagged out on a bear except for myself. After day four, I hadn’t even seen a bear in the woods while on stand. On the last and final day, my guide (Blaine Tiringer) decided to take me to a spot in Pelican Lake Indian Reservation. Wish I could enter and gift it to someone if i won. I don't hunt, but it's someone I know who is trying to get into hunting more and they hunt but they are trying to build their hunting gear up those seats are nice. Great review sir. Only story I know about them is they love hunting. They talk about it all the time. They take their kids hunting. They hunt together. They haven't been able to hunt much cause they had some things happen with things getting stolen and other things so that's why they are trying to build their stuff up. But they love being out in the woods, checking their camera, putting out corn, they don't always come in telling about a kill but they tell how the kids enjoyed seeing the Deer and hog on camera and getting to feed them, the kids calls me and excited about seeing the Deer and Hog on camera and getting to feed them. They talk about how they enjoy just getting out and teaching their kids about the woods and hunting. Havent been able to hunt much cause last year their stuff got stolen so when I saw this I thought thought I'll try my chances to enter for them. Atleast for one of them to use to build up their stuff again since a thief had to do that to a family and steal from them. Apparently there was alot of theft activity in this county after they made a police report about it. I also like hearing the funny stories about how see all kinds of Deer along in the woods but not close to where they are hunting at or one if the kids hearing a noice while trying to be quiet in the woods and wondering what it was cause they are learning about the woods and all. I dont know If this works for my entry but maybe so if not I understand. I subscribed and gave a thumbs up nice job

I’m a gear guy and collect way too much stuff. So I have both the original Fanatic Outdoors single stake seat as well as the newer model. Personally, I was disappointed with the newer model. It’s heavier, really no more comfortable (at least to me), and has more potential to make noise at the wrong time. As for the Millennium seat, I’ve had three of their stands including one with basically the same exact seat. Obviously it’s bulkier and heavier to tote around, but I have to take issue with the idea that the Low Down seat is on par with it in terms of comfort. For starters, the back support of the Low Down seat is basically non-existent but let’s agree that people buy stuff based on the reviews from KZbin’s like this, right? Well, my brother in law bought a Millennium seat last year because he’s got a bad back. My point is this. Had he listened to me after I recommended the low down seat I wouldn’t blame him if he still wouldn’t talk to me lol. We all end up being biased a little but it helps to be as objective as we can. Beautiful scenery and snow for sure!
@MountaineerOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I can see your point. For me though I believe that the low down is definitely much more comfortable. I never had the first model of the low down. The best thing between the two is that the millennium is easy to set up and it's really no adjusting it slap it on the tree and go.. Its really a hard call either way but in my opinion the low down is the winner almost every time. I appreciate your insight and commenting. Have a great day and good luck this upcoming year

Those seats seem like they would be awesome. They had become a nuisance on their property. So we were up there visiting and staying with them one weekend during squirrel season and they said that we could go out there and pop some squirrels we of course just had to clean them and all, so we took them up on their offer cause who doesn't love to hunt and all. We ended up only popping a couple squirrels, but it was still really fun and we had a good time as a family out hunting. New subscriber ~The Murphy Family

part #2 - I had high hopes as this was his “ace in a hole” spot. Within 35 minutes in the stand, I had connected on a big 350lb sow. Come to find out, this was the exact stand that Russ Thornberry (former editor for Buckmasters magazine at the time) had hunted on camera and harvested a bear for Buckmasters TV show. I was so excited. I contacted Russ a week or so later to introduce myself and tell him about my adventure and he was able to get my hunt story published on Buckmasters on-line. I ended up getting a full body mount on my bear and this was not only my first bear, but my first time hunting outside my home state of WV. Also worth mentioning was that my guide Blaine Tiringer had harvested a 200+ inch buck a few years earlier and was listed at like #14 in the record books. He took me to his house to see the mount in person and to snap a photo of him with the buck. He also gave me a copy of Buckmasters magazine that had him and his buck featured on the cover. What an awesome experience overall. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to win an awesome tree seat. I could really use that here in hills of WV.

I own both of these seats and I respect his opinions, IF, he had not left out factually significant information in his biased attempt to make the hammock seat look better. First, the Millennium M300 weighs a whopping 4 lbs! It weighs nothing. It also has a full back support. And third, Millennium makes a cold weather pad that works on this tree seat, their blind chairs, their M100U hang on, and their ladders. The cold weather seat pad weighs about 1 lb and covers the entire seating surface to include your back. The hammock seat weighs 2 lbs and will go into a backpack. Mine has a single support post, while his model has two. It is comfortable, but it grabs and constricts me somewhat and makes noise, lots of noise at times. You can easily roll left or right while in it, but you can easily roll/fall out of it. I paid $35 for the hammock seat at the Deer and Turkey Expo and just $50ish for my M300 many years ago. Today they are $60ish and $100ish respectably. I have used the Millennium 99% of the time. At 6'2" and 235 lbs, I don't believe I could sit still and comfortable as long in the hammock. Just my opinion, including all deliberately omitted and twisted facts, like a 2 lb versus 4 lb weight differential matters. Going to look into the Mcclain Mountain Outdoors Simple Seat, as it may usurp both of these. It is $79 and also weighs just 4 lbs. It appears to be simpler and quicker to set up than either the hammock or the M300.

Well I appreciate your insight. I am definitely not dead set on either seat. However,my favorite of the two is probably still the low down one. When I was 12, my dad finally let me sit in the pine tree stand. Some 2x4 going up the tree to a small platform. This was my first hunt by myself. Around first light, comes in a small 7 point. I shoot him with a 20g. He drops, I get out of the tree and drag the deer over to the tree stand. I was told the night before, drag the deer to the tree. Little graffic but was also told to cut the throat and tie the deer to the tree. So I did all of that! Walked back to camp and waited for dad to get back. When he got back we hoped in the truck a went to the tree stand. As we were approaching the tree stand. He keep asking me these questions over and over again. Where did i shoot the deer, what did i do with it. So we are there and my deer is gone. Im freaking out, my doesn't believe me. I'm showing him the blood on the ground, he could hold it any more. When he was getting my attention he had already drug the deer out to the road and he had already field dressed the deer. We got that buck in the back of the truck. There was panic but when I seen that deer i didn't care about the joke. I was just a 12 year old having the best day of my life. Buck down!!!!

I have the first version of the hammock and it's like a torture device, it really hurts your legs after a while. The center post ends up in your crouch. Looks like the new version is slightly better but with no cross rod to hold it open it looks like your legs would get crunched together. As for being able to swing side to side sounds good but it makes a ton of noise because your rubbing against the tree. One more thing, if you hunt in the rain this thing holds water really well and that's not a good thing...... Lastly You took forever to get to the point. Even when your telling about your final decision you drag on on. You don't get to the point till almost 8 minutes in to the video....WTF

For anyone watching this, do yourself a favor and buy the millennium! I just bought the lowdown and used it a total of 5 hrs and it fell apart. Very cheap Chinese garbage. And also very loud in the cold! When I emailed the guy about it he told me that the hardware has to be checked often because it does come loose. But you wouldn’t know that until it falls apart! He said he is sending me new hardware. This thing will get thrown in my camper for a spare camping chair. It has no place in the hunting world for me.
@MountaineerOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Wow that's terrible. I do agree with you on the hardware but like all items ( cars bikes treestands guns) you should do your checks on them before use. Even as I am typing this I am sitting in my low down chair in the cold rain without any issues and it's fine. It is louder then then then millennium but only if you try to race to put it up. And another thing I agree with you on is its a great camping chair as well... But If you put it in your camper.. The vibration from the driving might loosen up the hardware so be careful 😉

I’ve had the low down for two years, used it many, many times and never had an issue with it. I like to have the legs partially extended when I attach it to my pack. That way, when I get to my hunting destination, I only have to move the leg one notch. It’s quiet and easily set up. I don’t see how it could possibly fall apart. It’s simply made and easily assembled in the event something comes loose. If you lose one of those spring notches, or if a screw falls out you can easily replace it at Home Depot, Amazin or Lowes. My other chair is a folding turkey seat, and I find that far more comfortable than the millenium or low down.
