My 5'10 is set to arrive tomorrow, and I'm super stoked! Love the amount of volume I can get for a board that can fit inflated in my car. I cancelled my order for a [competing brand's] inflatable and paid up a bit more for this board due to the plate, the integrated handle, another D-ring in the nose and, of course, the looks! Don't let me down Fanatic!!

I went out and bought one of these boards the 5' 10". It seemed ideal to learn on and to take on a plane and save on the crazy rental costs for winging gear. Anyway I got mine in December inflated it at home to 15 PSI then deflated it and stored it away. Jumped on a plane out of Detroit for warmer climes two weeks ago all good (except the larger version of this is oversized which is OK just can't use the standard baggage belt). First day pumped it up on the beach put the foil on went to get my wing and bang followed by a rapid woosh the board had popped! Anyway I get it these things can happen but clearly I was a bit miffed having to rent gear for two weeks. Anyway MACKite to the rescue they were hyper responsive and will get me sorted with or without Fanatic - I cant thank them enough what a great store! It's 12 days since pop day and Fanatic have yet to respond. I just don't get it you'd think they would want to know etc etc. Anyway I've had three inflatables two Starboard and one Fanatic - one Starboard leaked and you know what happened to the Fanatic so I won't be taking those odds anymore!

Did you guys chang the Sky Air model in the new 2022 version? The one I just received is missing the kick tail and the quality is really poor. The tail rail is glued in a skewed way and the foil plate is off center of the board. There are also other minor esthetic flaws like bubbles in the glued fabric or a torsion in the leash ring. I will have to send it back for good.
@FanaticBoardriding3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that, sounds like a claim/check with your shop. We removed the thicker rear tail pad as the pads were lifting off, when the boards were folded. You don't really need that pad as you are never standing that far back on the board, it was more of an aesthetic from the Hardboards.

Do you plan to make a version with several foot strap positions? I have no idea if these will fit my feet properly...
@FanaticBoardriding3 жыл бұрын
Not for the moment as the inserts are quite heavy and since they stick out above the footpad, very uncomfortable if you stand on them/between straps etc?
@blacksheep57363 жыл бұрын
Can you also tell me how many centimeters the front foot strap hole is from the back, I have the idea that the front foot strap is very forward,
@FanaticBoardriding3 жыл бұрын
Depends on which board you mean? they are all slightly different according to the different sizes.. But it is for sure not too far forward, magazine tests/our own testing showed the straps are correctly placed, it's just a question of adjusting the foil position to match front and back foot pressure.

This is awesome. Could the 5'8 or 5'10 be used as a portable wing & SUP foil board for flat water as well to learn on in a lake for someone 87kg?

Would this work as the first board for complete beginners? I am kiteboarder but only TwinTip experience. Never ridden a hydrofoil of any kind.
@FanaticBoardriding3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, would work as a beginner board in the bigger sizes yes, as it's pretty stable, durable for the bumps and knocks for both board and rider, this is what we designed the bigger sizes for.

@@FanaticBoardriding thanks. But what about the difficulty of board sticking to the water? Will that cause delays while learning?

Has anybody actually travelled by plane with the board? How did that go? Any issues checking the large bag?
@FanaticBoardriding3 жыл бұрын
We have taken a few on shoots- of course if you follow the strict airline measurements, it is oversize, we checked in a few as normal bags but that is then luck of the draw/verbal persuasion..😁 but we made the bag larger anyway, so that a foil + wings and spares could be included, either at the 23kg limit or even 32kg, depending what you put in/weight limits or price for excess etc. Alternatively, you can buy a Isup bag which is smaller and put the wings in your backpack etc, smaller and lighter - if you know the airlines are super strict. Bag is not made exclusively for flying, also for cars, boats etc, as a one solution.

how heavy is the complete kit, inc. foil in the backpack?
@craiggertenbach68123 жыл бұрын
Hi Andie, that really depends on the type of foil or wings and the size of the boards (there are three). Just getting updated list of the boards which are on the way to our warehouse to have an average weight. Foils can vary between 4-7kg, depending if Carbon or Alu. Wings, handle vs boom also has a variance too, with boom wings being heavier. I'd say a rough estimate of foil/board/cpl of wings and the bag+pump, you should be able to hit the magic 23kg mark as a checkin bag for flying - depending on types of foils/wings?

Hi @fanatic international will this new board would be suitable for jumps also? ( carbon plate resistance? )
@FanaticBoardriding3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay, should be ok for smaller jumps, our riders have done a few during testing without problems. But if you are an active wingfoiler focussed on performance with jumps, would really reccomend the Sky Wing due to weight/stiffness etc.

@craiggertenbach68123 жыл бұрын
Dear Red Boardriders, we have had AIR in the name of our inflatable boards since around 8 yrs now, on almost every singe model - Fly Air, Ray Air, Fly Air Fit, Viper Air, Ripper Air, Falcon Air, Rapid Air etc etc. And Air is used by many brands in their board names, pretty hard to license or patent that name. Plenty of space in the wing foil market for more brands, I would not worry too much about similar names - keep up the good work!
