As a parent of kids approaching college age who are all very smart I will be actively encouraging them to stay far away from these pretentious universities that farther the goals of our powerful oligarchy. The smartest kids need to go to stste Universities and other schools with great programs and no money investments from the oligarchs. F these schools.

Any engineers in your brood? University of Cincinnati has a mandatory co-op program. They work 5 semesters in their field alternating between classes & work. My son is an aerospace engineer major. His first coop was the Fall of his 2nd year. That Christmas he told me he will cover his rent, utilities, & food with his earnings. My savings will cover the classes & we pay for insurances. He should graduate debt free but also with the ability to budget

Pulled our son out of the educational system in 4th grade because the speed of his learning capacity was being hindered. Homeschooling consisted of his own curiosity to build skillsets via the internet. This continues now then conventionally he should be in a higher level educational institution. Consequently, his knowledge base is better developed than his contemporaries. And let's face it; for the majority of jobs these days, the boss doesn't care about your institutional degrees. They are going to swivel the computer around and say "show me." Furthermore, the comradery that institutions offor among students pales in comparison with the social structure my son has developed online over two decades that spans the world. So the question is, why waste money on expensive institutions for a lesser quality result?

This strikes me as non-analysis, a 3%-5% drop in enrollment at Brown University, which isn't the best Ivy League University out there, doesn't tell me much. An increase in the enrollment to universities in the south also doesn't tell me much. Southern State Universities are very liberal and are usually the only place in a sea of red voting blue. These 2 actually need to do more research on this topic and offer a more accurate picture of what is going on rather than speculating.

Kids, don't go into the trades. Those of us in them are really enjoying being in high demand. I can be much more selective in the jobs I take and can charge more for what I do. If more people start doing these jobs the good times for those of us in the trades may end.

I’ve never been a fan of elitists but had my white catholic son apply to two Ivy League schools just to see what happens. He had a 1580(perfect 800 math) SAT and a 101 average and 7th ranking in a catholic college prep high school and lo and behold was not accepted to either school. I guess he didn’t fit the political narrative. Good riddance.

11 CEOs from Ivy League in Fortune 500 is BS data point. Ivy League is just selective about which students they get in, so these people would have become great in life even if they attended non ivy league schools. Young people need to realize that life is tough. Thinking in terms of having a "normal"/ideal college experience can be harmful since the world is nothing like a big state university with great sports teams, Greek life, and cookie-cutter graduation ceremonies. Such students will miss out on preparing themselves for a very challenging world they will one day be in charge of. Will they be up to the task of running the country if they spend four years strolling around as an anonymous coed or frat guy who rarely gets to know their professors?

I think the 120k figure includes grad students too though. However, 15k is way too low. I believe Cornell has 15k. Brown and Columbia together make up about another 15k. Add in the rest of the Ivies and you're looking at over 50k especially when you factor in schools that tend to rank higher than most Ivies on lists like US News ie. Stanford, MIT etc.

I think ivy schools are looking for certain qualities which is a myth. My son is one of those well rounded type… he has sat 1600 all ap and ib perfect scores also. He is county student government president, county concert master and state swimming finalist and he was denied or waitlisted by all ivys / ivy-like schools at same time he was accepted into all top public schools. He eventually choose to go to my state school on full ride merit scholarship. What is funny is that his girl friend who on surface is less achieved got accepted into 2 ivys she applied. As parent we understand those are private colleges they can do whatever serves their best interest but they can be more upfront about what type of student they are looking for instead of bombing then with ads without any intention to admit them. Other than real money there are so much time and emotional toll wasted applying to colleges which I never really want to visit

12:50 "They are also not going to be very good workers." That may be the dumbest statement ever stated on YT! A person is MORE likely to be a better worker without college as college teaches kids to be entitled, Narcissistic and tells them that they may demand having pronouns of their own. A person without college is more likely to believe that the job place doesn't center around him or her and that s/he is part of a team and that his or her work is to be valued per quality and appreciation is to be earned and not an entitlement.
