Fancy Schmancy Lamp

Thank you for stopping by for this demonstration of my new Stelton ship lamp.
This beautiful mid-century style lamp was designed on the premise of a ship's Galley or sailboat equipment.
This lamp uses paraffin or lamp oil.
I was able to get into this lamp at a very good price and has now become a permanent staple in my collection. I was suprised to fing that it never had been lit . Looks to have been on display however.
I fell in love at first sight of this oil lamp I love the idea of trying to replicate something like this on my own

What an interesting design. I love how they went as far as to put the top heat shield to keep the handle cool. Great find!

Thank you , I figured out the metal strap that slides , it slides up under the umbrella to add stability, last night this was blocking light guite a bit !

Very cool, but $800 cool!$$ Wowww! Haha! That'd be an amazing dinner lamp on a calm evening outdoors. Silent, bright, but not too bright. Looks like it should last forever.

That’s a very impressive lantern Steve. Very elegant and modern. You need to try a gas mantle on it to see if it increases the light output. God Bless

@ You should grind up a couple of cheap mantles. Use some solvent to extract the material that makes them glow bright white. Dip the top part of your circular lamp wick in the solution, let dry, repeat a couple times and then light up the kerosene lamp to see if it burns bright white.
