My reading on the Isiah Bradley "outing" was that Sam wanted him to reveal himself because he is believed to be dead and Isiah didn't want to "return from the dead". Sam having the exhibit and statue created doesn't reveal that he's still alive so doesn't betray Isiah's wishes.
@DroopyBDawg3 жыл бұрын
Wasn’t it more that Isaiah Bradley just didn’t want people to know he’s alive? People would then come to search him out for more blood. The statue and everything in the museum was just to immortalize his legacy since all that he did in the past for good was erased.

I know it was aaages ago, but I'm pretty sure the animosity towards Bucky stems all the way back to The Winter Soldier, when he nearly killed Cap. And, like, Bucky pretty much caused the Civil War. And before that there was the bombing that killed T'Chaka. Every time Sam trusted Bucky was by Steve's proxy, he was never really given a chance to choose to trust him by his own accord.
@MahalaniM3 жыл бұрын
That is exactly why Sam didn't trust/like Bucky. I'm not sure how they missed that. Sam was being cordial with Bucky because of Steve, but still didn't really trust him for a while.

My head canon for the relationship between Bucky and Sam begins with Steve telling them to get along and/or look after each other. After Endgame, they worked together a little and Sam tries out the shield. Then the government contacted Sam and pressured him "a little" to give them the shield. Sam doesn't tell Bucky, but the stress frays their relationship. They split off and then the show happens.

But Sam & Bucky can’t be Riggs/Murtaugh right away because Sam has more experience seeing TWS who ripped off his wings and tried to kill him. This series had the same issue in the ending that "Captain America: Civil War" had - they had a great (or a few great) ending beat(s), but they had too much to wrap up and couldn't stop. In "Civil War," the film opened with Sam running and an off-screen voice saying "On your left" and revealed to be Steve. The perfect ending moment was Sam sitting in the hospital, and an off-screen voice saying "On your left" and it's Steve in the hospital bed. Beautiful cinematic symmetry. But then they had to wrap up Nick Fury's story, wrap up the collapse of SHIELD, send Sam and Steve after Bucky, etc. This series had a few good ending moments: Sam landing with Karli's body, or Zemo's butler wasting the last Flag Smashers, but they still had have the big speech, they had to wrap up the Bradley story, they had to (sort of, I guess?) wrap up the family stuff for Sam... There was just a lot of stuff that needed to be done to use a good credit-roll moment.

I didn't mind the speech because I thought it underscored the point that Sam was the new Captain America not because he had any super-strength (which was what Karla and the Power Broker and false New Cap had been fighting over) but because he had the same kind of moral vision about how the world should be that Cap did and this was his moment to demonstrate that and call everyone higher. Which was at the center of Steve Rogers' arc - how to maintain a moral compass, first through getting super strength (Dr. Erskine telling him to remain a good man because the serum exaggerates people's characters) and then from Winter Soldier on through a much more morally complex world. So the speech fit for me.
