DS9 was the first truly serialized Star Trek series and for some fans, the best of them all. Nana Visitor, who played Kira Nerys, Michael Dorn, who played Worf and Jeffrey Combs, who played Weyoun (which is one of his 9 Star Trek roles), answered questions at a panel at the Great Philadelphia Comic Con. They speak of their fan experiences, items they kept from the set and their favorite directors.

People think they have good or bad memories but a lot of the time it's down to what a person likes, Baseball fans can rattle off stats, theater buffs have entire plays memorized. Jeffrey must love what he does, which translates to the screen in his absolute master of the craft. If you want to be amazed by a persons memory check out the Archive interviews or anything else with Marilu Henner she could tell you every detail of any day since before she was on Taxi, seriously we're talking Rainman level here. Spooky!

I think DS9 is much better when you binge watch it. Back in the 90's I had to miss episodes due to work and lost interest, but it took on a new flavor when I re-watched it in sequence. Y'all did a great job bringing those characters alive.

I love this discussion because the audience is quiet then I can hear all of their responses perfectly. I hated the beginning when the announcer was screaming to announce the actors coming in. That was horrible. But this is a wonderful discussion. I'm glad I've seen all of the episodes multiple times so that I can relate to the answers. Three wonderful actors who have been a part of our lives four decades now!

I always wanted to see Worf die in a glorious battle as he's very old at this point, one last mission he won't come back from, and then have the last ten minutes with him in Stovokor, and then we get to see all the Klingons he knew through out the show, and a final shot of Jadzia walking towards him, and then finally embracing each other with a kiss, and as Worf looks into Jadzia's eye's he say's one last sentence,...It was, a good day to die.

I have a different take on Coomb's comment about actors being stereotyped because they do a "great job" in a particular genre. Julie Andrews was asked about her being stereotyped because of the success of "Mary Poppins" + "The Sound of Music" and she said it didn't bother her. Then she asked, rhetorically, "Did Clark Gable mind being identified with "Gone with the Wiind?" Neither Gable nor Andrews was stuck in a particular genre of acting due to their massive success in a single film or two.

The host was kind of rude to Jeffrey Combs. Sure, he was kinda babbling on a little long at points, but she treated him with such open contempt at a certain point. The point of a good host is to steer the conversation if it gets to that point, but she was bad at doing the steering.

Honestly, I wasn't impressed with her moderating. She tried to draw attention to herself, which is not how I moderate panels.

@@FandomSpotlite When she said "John Lemon" and Jeffrey corrected her. And she immediately went "that's what i said". That pissed me off. She should get into the habit of admitting when wrong. Because when it's literally being filmed and put on the internet, she ends up looking like a jerk. Usually the moderators don't affect my enjoyment of a panel, as you are right, the attention shouldn't be drawn on herself, but the guests on stage. So I'll be honest, she totally ruined this panel for me.

What’s wrong with Michael? Does he have a problem with Jeff ? Somehow his whole demeanor against Jeff is strange and rude

The moderators make this nearly unwatchable. I've never understood the propensity for moderators to insert themselves into these panels -- NO ONE, absolutely NO ONE, is there for you. Except maybe your mom...who also tried to make it all about you. FFS.

I would agree that the best moderators I've seen put the focus where it belongs: on the guests. They may ask some initial questions, but then they let the guest answer. I think some moderators forget they aren't a celebrity themselves. (There was another moderator at this con who WAS also a celebrity - voice actor - and kept the focus on the guests.)

@@FandomSpotlite I think its a question of being able to moderate well. These two, especially the woman constant lassoing the spotlight back on to her or what she thought, isn't good. The cringeworthy intros were a huge red flag. lol

LOL. I do think some of these moderators need to dial back the boxing ring style intros. And being a good moderator is partially being a good interviewer. And the first rule of being a good interview is... SHUT UP! :-)

You need to consider they are in Philadelphia both of them are probably from their, and allot of black commentators tend to do this. If it was a sports related interview this is fine but its not. Its pretty obvious both of them are not hard core Star Trek fans. They came off fake.

That toilet, camera story is so bad, why do people do that? But it´s nothing compared to David Tennant who had a fan shove a piece of paper through the shower curtain at the gym :)
