Catherine is right about the food lol. I worked as a receptionist for a major tv production company and I never had to buy food. We had a fully stocked kitchen in the office that the company sent a runner to the grocery store every week with a list from all the employees to buy food, not to mention cookies and candies and every kind of snack you can imagine. Then you go down to set and there were like four craft services (catering) tables with bagels and cheese and crackers and all kinds of snacks. On tape night there would be hot food, shrimp cocktail, pizzas, sushi, you name it. Plus, if we had to get food for the writers when they worked late, the company would buy any of the office staff that had to stay dinner. I never ate so well lol. And yeah, in America they are doing rewrites right up to taping

So was amused to find out John Barrowman met his husband whilst he was doing a production of Rope in Chichester. Rope is probably IMO the greatest play ever written. Certainly the best I've ever seen (albeit a totally different production, in Islington in the naughts). By genius novelist and playwright Patrick Hamilton. Also adapted by Hitchcock for the big screen. And it's definitely a rich play full of nuance and challenging lines...would be interested to see how John played it.
