What the show Cobra Kai does so great is it makes you feel Miyagi is there when he is not on the screen. Even in death its still Pat Morita's universe and we are all living in it in Cobra Kai This is one of the greatest shows of all time the writers/actors/kids all did a remarkable job at this show and deserve major respect

Martin Kove is awesome throughout the franchise, but he killed it in the original. Such intimidating pure evil, which made Daniel and Miyagi look even better with their triumph.

I became aware after hearing William Zabka talk about how people viewed him the "quintessential 80s asshole for 30 years" after the Karate Kid because the writers didn't give him as much depth in character. I realize that this is EXACTLY what is happening to the Kyler character in Cobra Kai. Kyler is the asshole character throughout the series without depth and fans of the show will view him the same way they viewed if the writers don't give him any arc or even a "redemptive moment" like Johnny after the Karate Kid.

Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this! I'm considering this an early Christmas present. I hope this means we'll be seeing more of this amazing cast as we await season 6 of my now favorite series of all time. Cobra Kai has fulfilled me in so many ways I never realized I needed until now. Let's all pray that Netflix gets their asses in gear and gives us all the green light for the continuation of this story very soon. I wish everyone who reads this all the happiness in the world :)

Something recently occurred to me By changing the Daniel/Ali breakup story CK did Mr Miyagi wrong He never would have given Daniel a car with bad brakes

Is Cobra Kai, and Miyagi Do the same karate? Miyagi’s father taught Mr. Miyagi, and Sato. Sato taught Chozen. Chozen taught Miyagi Do to American soldiers in their dojo in Okinawa. Captain Turner taught Kreese and Silver in Vietnam which they decided to call Cobra Kai. Where did Turner learn martial arts…… could it have been at THAT dojo in Okinawa. It is clearly shown in 1985 that Sato had been teaching karate in Okinawa for 40 years on a billboard at the airport when Daniel, and Mr. Miyagi arrive, which would play right into Captain Turner's timeline in Vietnam 😦.
