When I heard him pull the “ran into a door” line, I nearly broke. One of my friends has went through long term domestic abuse, and they used to tell me this constantly. I knew what was happening, but I couldn’t convince them to fight back because they would just be hurt worse. Thankfully they managed to escape that. But having to see that from the outside is heartbreaking, especially as an abuse survivor myself.
