- Make sure the flam on beat 3 of the first bar is not too open. Keep the grace note as close to the primary note as you can. - The 16th notes on beat 4 of the first bar are a little too open in the video. Make sure you are subdividing the 8th note and being very intentional with your timing. - During the Fanfare repeat section, make sure you are starting each tap roll with an accent and then placing the first left hand diddle precisely where it needs to go. You tend to start the diddles a little early and slur the roll together. - Also in the repeated section, anytime you play a double stop, aim for perfection. Double stops are tough to execute consistently. Right now, they are all a little too open and sound more like flams. - In general, you have the foundation laid really well. The next step is to focus on the little things. As yourself: Is every rhythm perfect? Right now, a lot of your slower rhythms get morphed into a rounded version. Are all of my grace notes staying low and close to the primary note? In flams, you tend to lift your grace notes too high and there is too much space between the grace note and the primary note. - The approach looked way better in this video. Stay this relaxed all the time! - One last general thing. Make sure you are keeping your 3” low and not letting it creep up when the parts get busier. You also tend to reach too high for most accents. Really focus in on keeping things lower and lighter. This will help clean everything up as a line, and will allow us to play way more musically.
