I'm a bit more convinced, but I will wait and see a few more of your videos before I pull the trigger on this one. By my math it will be $1,639 for all 100 issues (minus start up discounts).

Yes it's not an in expensive model kit. However, it is spectacular when it's finished so I think it is more than worth it. Paying a professional to build you a studio scale Falcon fully detailed inside and out with lighting would cost a lot more than the subscription does. It might cost more in the end even if you built it yourself and started with a basic kit which there are none available at this large scale.

Love your videos since all the other prizes you've done I just got my Falcon and I'm going to go by what you do I'm not going to put all the bells and whistles in the door I need to see more closer with your camera cuz you do exceptionally Immaculate work love all your detail work I'm just not doing all the bells and whistles on the inside just the basics PS love all your videos keep up the good work I'm going to follow you on my build❤

So yeah, I felt that I missed out on the DeAgostini release back in 2014-2016, so this was a nice surprise and I jumped right in! Now if FanHome is listening? Maybe the X-Wing again??

It a great build and worth $. Ive done my research and will be getting it at start new year. I just finished the iron man. And finishing r2d2. But note that the parts from fan home can be a little wonky. Decent customer service. Screwed up a part and they replaced the whole issue even for a little power cable. Instructions can be off also. (Wow) has good builds also. Boyd I purchased these little jewelry storage from Amazon that fit perfect for the screws. Might be something you would like. Oh definitely buy a good micro screwdriver. The provided one can fail and strip a screw head and get it magnetic. Msrushing you’ll spend a little more for the extras like from paragraphix . To really bring it to life. It’s a must. Sound clips and son.

This is an awesome kit! It's so great that Fanhome picked up the ball with these kits. I built the Bandai 1/144th scale one and the most fun I had on that was the painting and weathering, so I'm really looking forward to see what you'll do with the paint. Great start Boyd!

Awesome, it's a really nice model right out of the box and if you want to take it further, there are ton's of upgrade parts for it.

@TrekWorks I plan on waiting for at least half to arrive before starting on my build. I know a few minor tweaks need to be made. The window on the cannon are at the wrong position... things like that. Plus a complete repaint.

I was one of te people that Deogostini just stopped sending parts to the falcon too. Called on it and never got a straight answer many times. Now that Fanhome has the kit I hoped they’d let me start back up where I left off. Nope! So here I sit with half a MF and no way to get the rest of it. Not a big fan of this company to be sure. Good luck with your build. It looks to be a really nice kit.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I haven't heard of any widespread issues with Fanhome or DeAgostini and issues with not getting parts. Of course everyone had delays or troubles during the peak of the pandemic but that seems to have gotten much better. There are numerous examples on social media from modelers who completed their builds and were very pleased with the kits. To me, it's the ultimate Falcon model so I had to go for it.

Very cool! I'm sure you'll make this look amazing after you do your own paint work on it. Especially the weathering. If I had the room for this I might consider it. I recently took down my Lego UCS Millennium Falcon which looks to be about the same size because I needed the space. This is going to be a beast! 😁

I've never built a model of the Falcon so this is going to be really fun. Along with the painting, there are tons of aftermarket upgrades for this model. And, some really great ideas from others who have built it. It should be one heck of a model when it's done.

This is a really interesting idea, Boyd. I love that you get to fan the build out over time. I'm a subpar modeler, but did a bunch of Polar Lights and AMTs in my youth and even into college. How would you rate this on a difficulty scale? I'm thinking that this could really be a fun retirement project for me.

It's not difficult at all to build it right out of the box. Just need a screwdriver and some time. All of the lighting components have plugs. No soldering needed.

I just started and plan to make upgrades as well, but there are so many options (Paragrafix, Shapeways, Falcon 3d) and I'm not really sure yet which is best.

Check out the Falcon video build series by Models by Chris here on KZbin. Some great info about upgrades there and he did a fantastic job with the model. My plan is to use a lot of the same parts and techniques.

Call me what you will - But I don't trust a company that doesn't tell you the total price up front! Then adds language that lets them raise the price as they see fit! And any liability on their part if the project "fails" during the subscription period?

I wonder why you do this one because you dismissed the 1701 D due to quality issues. Is this one made by other companies? I would be way more interested in the D and how to fix all the issues in a good/ non destructive way.
