There are two types of riders - those who have come off, and those that will... From someone that spent a weekend in high care after coming off my bike about 20 years ago, I can say that with confidence! Super glad you are back at it! Stay on two wheels!

Well recovered Fanie. I’m glad you’re back in the saddle. We have all had the wake up call to just be a little more wary. Take care, best wishes.

....but yaah, just my observation over the 42 years of riding bike is that these accidents seldom happen when you ride alone. One tends to become very complacent when you ride in a group and one tends to push the limits let alone being distracted at times, knowing that someone always has your back. Most of my riding these days are solo on my Africa Twin, so I always have to focus 110% on "that line", "that small rock" that can throw the back of my bike into an epic dakar style spin out crash to name a few. Also being mindful that I could be laying there for 3 days or more before someone comes pass makes a person be a little more cautious. But being cautious should never be done at the expense of confidence. For instance, thick sand can only be ridden aggressively ...no two ways about that. So, it all comes down to calculated risks. Anyhoo, take care bud.

Baie bly jy is weer op die been Fanie. Some useful info, use it or loose it, stel jou een spieël sodat jy agter kan sien wanneer jy staan en hou een gestel wanneer jy sit.
