So Judy performed with Fanny and years later with Barbra Streisand who portrayed Fanny. That's very rare. It happened with Streisand too. She sang with Ray Charles, then years later with Jamie Foxx, who portrayed Ray.

I had forgotten about Fanny Brice until quite recently and never watched or listened to any of her material. I remember as a kid back in the late 1960s reading about her in the World Book encyclopedia, and asked my mother if she had heard of Fanny Brice and essentially said she was a real riot. Indeed!! As others have mentioned, there are two great legends shown here!

Let me guess. That’s supposed to be a head shake at the alleged gender dysphoria constantly mentioned in the news. Apparently, non-binary and trans people are some new fad, tsk tsk. Reality: trans communities are tiny, and have virtually no voice in the media to oppose those shouting about them all the time. And it’s no fad. All through human history genetic and hormonal variations have existed. Get used to a world that’s not black and white. Enjoy 🌈

Baby Snooks: nobody even seems to recognize this is Snooks. Shows how dumb people are today. My family worked at M-G-M since the silents and are all buried in the original Motion Picture Arts cemetery. In 1969 we were honored guests at the famous M-G-M auction. I was 3.

A little bit, but because we're invited to laugh--jeer, ridicule-- at a woman who cries when she caught her husband kissing another woman, the child's nurse (nanny) and again to laugh at a man whose wife made him "weep" because he pretended to be sleepwalking when caught going to the nurse's room at night. Both involve heartbreak and betrayal and the loss of trust or even marital love, yet we're invited to laugh. So yeah, today we cringe at such callousness, as well as full grown women pretending to be little girls and boys.
