The next two films, Curse and Cult, take a far more serious tone but still has that hint of comedic relief that only Chucky and Tiffany can provide. Be sure to watch both films 'til after the credits, as they have post-credit surprises that will connect to the TV series. Such a great horror franchise!

The twins are easily my favourite characters in the franchise. Glenda doesn't get much depth or development in this movie but they are really good in the tv show.

the reason why glen/glenda new japanese is bc upon seeing the made in japan "birth mark" he probably searched up what it meant and genuinely thought he was japanese which i guess in some toy way he would be of japanese desent so he most likely researched japanese culture where he most likely taught himself japanese and karate, it's kinda sad when you think about bc that's all he knew about himself apart from the terrible nightmares he would have even though he also knew in his heart that he wasn't violent not to mention the identity crisis he was going through which i'm sure a lot of transgender, non-binary, and genderfluid people go through. honestly i feel like this movie was ahead of it's time even though it's a little parody-like for a horror movie.

Just wanted to say been watching your reactions of this from the beginning. Enjoying it a lot.. this was one my favorite horror franchises growing up. Seed is the least of the franchise but I watched it sooo much as a teen. I think it partly had to do with my Jennifer Tilly obsession 😂

Yeah bride and seed are the silliest but it goes back darker with curse and cult. Then the series which Season 1 is serious, darker. Season 2 is a little sillier but S3 is said to be darker again. You also have the remake which is a fun movie and a different interpretation of Chucky being an A.I.

Fun fact so...I don't wanna spoil anything too much but one of the main writers and producers/ creators has I think been an openly gay man since the 80s (Dom mancini) ...its always been an undercurrent to the movies there has been LGBTQ+ representation. Less so in the first movies but you have to remember that was in the late 80s early 90s. He had less creative control but also it would have been outright rejected due to the homophobia that had quite the peak in HIV epidemic. He had more creative control in bride of chucky and was tasked with revamping it because childs play 3 didnt do that well..and thats where the campiness kind of ramped up in bride and when Jennifer tilly got involved.Not to spoil it too much....just you can expect something a little different from each movie and the series. It's kinda like Don mancini went 'yeh whatever let's chuck paint on the wall and see what sticks.' Each movie is weird and gruesome and funny and just...entertaining in its own way. I hope that helps with some context.

Seed of Chucky is a great time but definitely the weakest movie in the franchise. They get better with Curse and Cult. And the tv series is a fun time with all kinds of callbacks to the original films. I think you’ll enjoy it.
