I think some Star Wars fans have eye problems if they think real people look like CGI.
@Hei_Darkfire

It's not really that. It's that CGI has evolved to the point where it's hard sometimes to tell what's real and what's not these days in many shows and movies with decent budgets. Sometimes it's really obvious and your eyes fix on something you know isn't right, but there are times where things look real that aren't.

The issue is more that they just don't move quite right because we're all used to seeing digital clones in both the movies and in the animated shows, and people are just bad at communicating it because most visual problems we find in media tends to be something digital these days. The practical actually put us in the uncanny valley for a change.

Sometimes people are going by what they imagine something "real" should look like. I remember almost 30 years ago when Babylon 5 aired an episode with a character that had a scar over their eye. Some fans complained that the scar looked too fake. It was a real scar! Similar thing in another Babylon 5 episode which featured a character that was the President of the Russian Federation. People complained that the accent the actress used sounded fake. Funny thing is, the actress was Russian. We're so used to seeing/hearing Hollywood versions of fake stuff that we think the real thing is supposed to look like and sound like the movie stuff...

i think what makes them look fake is the lighting, since an environment this foggy isn't really very realistic. it feels like a dream in a way, which is most likely the intention of Dave Filoni. Edit: i hate to edit comments but i will just to clarify certain points. 1. what i meant by lighting is the ambient lighting. most environments have a lighting where there is/are primary light source/s (aka sun, lights on the ceiling, etc) 2. about the fog, i still believe it's meant to sell the dreamy aspect of the scenes. she's not really there, just reexperiencing the past battles she has been to (i didn't include Anakin because of Mandalore). sure, budget could have had its contributions on why they chose to make the scene foggy, but it's easier to make transition points between flashback and World Between Worlds shots. they already have the assets for Mandalorian cities since they appeared in The Mandalorian Season 3, which could've also been used if they fixed them a little to match the time. Ryloth could've been made as easily as well since they've made similar environments in other shows before (aka Tatooine, Nevarro, Arvala-7, etc but not including Andor since they had actual sets)

The armor flapping is the drawback of the way the pauldrons (and a few other parts of the armor, too) are designed. Having made armor following the 501st official specs myself, I've found that the flapping armor can't be helped unless you stray from the original Lucasfilm design, which was initially designed for CGi. I don't think the VFX team back in the early 2000s could have predicted that Lucasfilm would be shifting to lower-budget streaming TV shows that would need real actors in clone costumes instead of CGi clones to cut down on CGi costs.

I actually like that the settings are very hazy and you don’t get to see much. It’s a spiritual flashback from Ahsoka’s memories and it has that theatrical stage feeling. If the scene was too crowded, you’d be more likely to lose the focus of the dialogue and emotion between Anakin and Ahsoka.

Now this is specifically for the phase 1 clone trooper helmets, I think the reason the helmet design was somewhat retconned from how we saw back In Attack of the Clones was because in attack of the clones, the clones were cgi and those helmets look like it was hard for a real person to put that helmet on their heads. (If you look at the hole underneath the helmet, it’s too small to easily slide even your ears in.) In both clone wars animation and what we see now in Ahsoka, the bottom underneath looks wide enough for a real person’s head to fit inside, making the design look alittle wide from the original AOTC clones look…

My only main issue so far with new star wars live action clones was kenobi. 0:30 clone behind Ashoka was the only clone that somewhat felt like revenge of the SITH from the pose to the run, every other clone looks and feels clunky, their armor seems like it’s attached by very loose piece of Velcro

But all the clones in RotS were CGI, even the ones with Temuera's head awkwardly stuck on them. Have we come full circle from 1999 and are now complaining when things are done practically in SW because they don't look fake enough?

@@stephenjohnston7630 the clones in the movies while CG never looked bad, it was the backgrounds aliens etc that looked like dogs hit. But the clones were always sick af. Better than cosplayers in my opinion. Not hating practical effects it’s just about what looks good and bad and I’m sorry but the show looks bad

@@omarguerra1838 the clone cgi was cool for its time, but it looks very dated. You can instantly tell its cgi by the way they move and it dont look that good.

@@omarguerra1838 I prefer seeing real people moving around in armor, I like seeing all the little bits and things they have to deal with when moving around and running like someone would actually have to do when wearing armor Because the armor has to be attached, but also be loose enough to allow proper movement (which is a real thing they dealt with irl with full body armor, and in star wars as well) The armor doesn't just magically stick to them, I think that looks more goofy and unreal

I believe the clone suits, like a lot of storm trooper suits in recent Star Wars stuff are mostly fan made, part of the 501st groups and such. If you’re asking someone to use their suit I’m guessing you’re not going to weather it/ make it lived in and used how we were used to seeing them in the prequels, and I think that’s the disconnect. Compare the suits of the Night Troopers and those definitely look lived in.

The issue isn’t the visuals the issue is how they move. They are trotting across the screen. In battle no one is doing a quick baby step across the field. Ur sprinting to find cover or to rush to provide cover for your comrades cause that’s your ass. If you don’t move. They all look like “well I’m not in a rush to go help but I don’t want to get court martial”. Lazy writing, directing , could have been a great scene but just wasn’t doing it

For people that aren’t aware. People are saying this because they show real people as clones but there is a scene that like 1or 2 clones are cgi running past ahsoka. Honestly people who are complaining seem irrelevant to me as I was satisfied by seeing enough live action clone armor that wasn’t cgi. I mean hell we got freaking Rex and he wasn’t cgi

@themuffinman5755 Жыл бұрын
@@johnathanjones9216 you can't put someone in a category of what they like, people are entitled to their own opinions and likes of their own interests and can still be fans of newer or older things. If I said that I hate the Disney sequels but liked the clones in this episode then who the hell are you to tell a grown man that they are Disney star wars fans? You don't have the right to speak for other people, only yourself. Also, one cannot be "wrong" about liking something or having an opinion on something being better than another thing. Liking something is an opinion and the last I checked an opinion is how someone feels about something which is all relative and is not right or wrong. If I said I like this girl more than that girl then no one in the world can say that I am wrong. That is how I feel. Saying you disagree to a respectful extent would be the ethical and mature way to handle those situations in life instead of coming off as a controlling jerk who likes to project their opinions onto others like it's fact.
