Austrian woman here. Austria used to be super safe. Now, we are having knife crimes almost daily, and there's a whole paralel society building up. Everyone who's affluent enough to not having to live next to those immigrants will ofc say I'm overdramaticizing things. 3 weeks ago, some 20 Arab people (parents and children) got into a fight with Austrian parents at our 50 unit condominium building because a 14yrs old Arab kid slapped an Austrian kid and then also the Austrian mother. There's a decrease in respecting women and girls here. His Arab father then argued for over 10mins with 2 police women afterwards. They don't adhere to the rules (trash separation rules, no drilling and mowing between 12am~2pm, take your bulky waste with you when moving out, don't litter in and trash the interior of the building). We are collectively charged for reparations whenever 1 party doesn't adhere to the rules. Tourists might never encounter the issues we are having here, and Vienna might be the "most livable city", but it is deteriorating, and once that accelerates, there's hardly any stopping. Some schools here have 95% non-Austrian kids already. It's a [ re place men t ] en masse, and no one cares. I will be moving away in the next few years, with my family. I can't go out alone anymore in the evening. It used to be possible once.
